http://www.longfingers.com/ipodfolder/ - Download this handy tool.

Connect your Ipod, launch iTunes. It should map your iPod to a drive letter. And probably prompt you to sync and erase. Ignore for the time being, don't even click cancel or that drive mapping will disappear.

Run the downloaded tool - click the ipod icon to pick the drive letter, and the folder icon to decide where to stick your ipod contents. Then click the middle icon to start.

When it's done, you can go to iTunes, cancel the sync option, and add the folder of your ipod data to the library.

It's really less complicated than I've made it seem.

To ask help with a "computer" is like asking how long is a piece of string.

PC or Mac?

What OS?

Stating those to start would help.

I don't get the string/computer analogy.

Perhaps you should ask the computer guy, since he knows what he did, instead of a group of people who really have no idea?

That was going to be my question.

Is there some iTunes reg about transferring to 2nd PC?

Do you still have old PC, copy files to thumb drive and transfer yourself.

First off, welcome to FlyerTalk! Great first post, I wasn't aware of that tool! Haven't tried it yet but if the need arises I absolutely will give it a shot.

Time to get a new computer tech, or learn to do it yourself, I'd say.
