Magsafe airline Adapter. Help!

Hi,
So I finally got myself one of these adapters. It worked like a charm. But on my flight back from Tokyo a month ago, I unplugged the adapter and the 20 mm adapter wasn't unplugged. So I am wondering if there's anyway to just buy the 20 mm adapter by itself? Any idea? Cheers.

My husband did that too and called AppleCare and the answer is yes but the replacement part costs like $5 more than just getting a new adaptor at the Apple Store. Doh. Someone else needs to make the replacements for them to get cheaper.

I did the same thing. Now I check carefully at the end of every flight... Somehow I got the replacement part for $35 instead of $60 but that's still an obscene price for a cheap piece of plastic...

Where did you get it from? Apple store?
I don't get it, why don't they just build one piece instead of two! It just doesn't make sense.

They wanted to make sure it worked with EmPower and DC.

Now, what they should have done is made a little plastic strap that connects the 20mm to the chord, that way you never lose it.

I'm a little confused here. emPower plugs are all the same. 20mm plugs are all the same. Every airline adapter I've ever seen, no matter who made it, comes with an emPower plug at the end of the cord and a 20mm adapter that fits over it. The adapter, AFAIK, doesn't do anything electrical, it just adapts the size/connections. Why does it have to be from Apple?

If that's the problem, try this.

Oh no, it doesn't have to be white!
So I can just get a regular 20 mm adapter and it will with the emPower plug?
