I've been using at Targus 100W inverter: http://www.targus.com/us/product_det...sp?sku=APV10US

I fly mostly AA, which has regular cig lighter plugs. No problems whatsoever. The inverter has it's own fan, so it keeps itself relatively cool. I find it helpful that it also has a USB charging port, too.

(I find it annoying to have to deal with tips, so I prefer just having a regular A/C jack to plug into.)

I just got a new work laptop, and my igo juice70 isn't powerful enough for it. igo's website is pointing me towards the everywhere130. Are igo's still the best choice, or should I be looking at something else? I'd like to power my laptop, phone, and ipod.

I-go

I went thru the same thing about six months ago with the juice. Bought the 130 which died about six weeks ago. I picked up a Kensington 120W that is much more compact and lighter. Found it at Office Max. So far I would definitely recommend it over the I-Go.

I'm a fan of the iGo just because you can generally find the tips everywhere. though I havent seen the new kensington mentioned in the post above this.

Beware the Kensington Ultra Portable:link

The version sold by Amazon does NOT contain the USB tip, even though Amazon's page says it does and it is listed as an included tip on Kensington's website. For my purposes that makes this item well-nigh useless.

As the current owner of a Fujitsu Lifebook (7110 ) I have gotten flawless results from my five-year-old Juice 70 (I replaced one o the cords after stupidly damaging it through my own fault) but the main unit works as good as when new - both in the U.S. and overseas. I bought the Juice 70 for my previous Sony Vaio laptop and carried it over when I acquired the Fujitsu (I didn;t even need to buy the specified tip as the correct Fujitsu tip was included in my original kit).

When ScottC posted a while back that Radio Shack was closing out their version of the iGo Anywhere 130, I purchased one for $29.99 to keep as a backup in case the Juice 70 gave up the ghost. However, I've hardly used it as the Juice 70 is still going strong. Within the lest few months, in addition to AA, I've used it on BA (which uses Empower) and also on the Deutsche Bahn trains.

Highest possible recommendation

Now that I've been burned by the Kensington, I'm turning to Igo. What's the difference between the Everywhere85 and the Juice70? Both seem to be 70W but the Juice is half the cost.

I'm also very cautions about included accessories. The Igo and many other sites say the dualpower accessory is included with the Everywhere85. But the listing at radioshack.com (and the package at my local store) says it is NOT included. Anyone have any experience with this?

I reviewed it back in March, and the Dualpower accessory is included:

Using Asus Eee 900 on a plane and empower and tips for this notebook

I have this notebook and apart from battery life (which is not good - about 2hrs max) its otherwise great for Dvd viewing (from a thumbdrive), playing games and catching up on email.
Does anyone have experience using this machine and can anyone offer advice.

I asked iGo about tips for the Eee a few months ago, and back then they didn't have anything for it, and from their site, it looks like they still don't have them.

The only solution I can think of is just carrying along the AC charger (if the airline has AC) or a DC to AC inverter if they airline is using DC or Empower. (Like this one.)

Of course, you could also invest in one of the Eee batteries on sale on Ebay.

Thanks - sounds good. I have ordered the main brick from Amazon and all the tips I needed through igo.com with their $10 off coupon. We'll see if the package received from Amazon is what they advertise, though - the versions of this on sale at Radio Shack clearly do NOT include the dualpower accessory and iGo acknowledges this. Look at the disclaimer on this page:

Thanks for that update. It would seem pretty silly of them to NOT include the Dualpower, it's what makes the device more than just another laptop charger...

This is interesting in that when I bought the discontinued Anywhere 130 at the Radio Shack in the Broward Mall, it *did* iclude the Dual power device in the factory-sealed package.

I found a company that somehow makes the Kensington 120 work fantastically with the MacBookPro, www.mikegyver.com

The guy was able to rush my order and was extremely helpful in navigating
the best strategy for a Mac!

iPhone 3G power adapter question

I've searched this thread as well as the site and am probably missing what I need...your help will be greatly appreciated. I am looking for a power adapter for the iPhone 3G that will allow the phone to work and charge from seat power (both DC and EMPOWER). I'd love something similar to my current Monster iAirPlay.

This is for my upcoming trip to Australia (flying AA, BA, QF in F). My iAirPlay worked on my old iPod Nano and would allow it to charge but it apparently won't work with my new iPhone. Any help will be much appreciated.
