What email domain do I use to send a text message to a verizon phone

In the t-mobile world it's <phone#>@tmomail.net so
what is the equivalent of tmomail.net in the verizon world?

A secret that was passed along to me: Just use 10digitnumber@teleflip.com and you don't have to know the domains. It forwards automatically.

Works very well, and so for, for me, no spam SMS from it at all.

This works for all mobile providers (Cingular, T Mobile, Verizon, Sprint, etc.)? If so, GREAT find!

10_digit_number@vtext.com is via the Verizon official site, if you'd rather not take the chance of sending it through a third party.

tmobile: tmomail.net
cingular: ?

Here's a big list, some of which may be out of date:

http://www.livejournal.com/tools/tex...l?mode=details

It descirbes how each one works. The one I was looking for was Cingular, which is number@mobile.mycingular.com I usually send through the web interface which I have bookmarked (and each company usually has one of these), but sometimes the email is easier, sure.

Here's info on Teleflip: http://www.teleflip.com/ I can't figure out from anything on the site why they have done this or how it supports itself. One article from a couple years ago (linked from the site) mentions it as a labor of love and may never have a commercial side. It only works in North America, by the way. That much is explained on the site.

EDIT: I thought the Cingular one was going to turn out to be wrong, but it did eventually work. There was a good 5-minute delay from send to receive. Teleflip came through immediately. Interesting.

I've loved using this the last year or so. Again, great suggestion cblaisd!

Earlier today, I tried to send a message to a friend here in Russia using it and got an interesting response:

The following recipients do not appear to be valid North American phone numbers. Please check the number and try again - if you believe that the number is valid, please contact us at http://www.teleflip.com/teleflip/contactpage.jsp.
7913xxxxxxx

I never bothered to ask if it applied worldwide or just to U.S. providers. Good to know that it works only (and very well) in North America apparently.

Thank you As I say, someone else told me about it who, modestly, doesn't wish to be named.

From the Teleflip FAQ:

Quote:
Where does Teleflip work?

Currently, Teleflip works only in North America (Canada, US, Caribbean, Hawaii, Guam). We are working on adding more countries soon.
