As a general range, that's what flagship phones have cost new for at least 3-4 years now; before that, the creep from $500 average for a smartphone (absent subsidy) to $600-$650 was pretty gradual.

That said, there are an increasing number of good cheaper options; I suspect my Nexus 6 will be my last phone in that price range.

S6 appears to be selling about the same, or maybe slightly less, than the S5 and S4. Sales of the S5 were considered disappointing.

South Korea's top tech giant Samsung Electronics Co. said Tuesday its global shipments of the latest flagship Galaxy S6 models surpassed 10 million units in about one month after their release.

"The sales of the Galaxy S6 series have already surpassed 10 million," a high-ranking Samsung official said. It marked the first time for the company to confirm the sales figure of the latest flagship.

The Galaxy S6 boasts Samsung's first built-in wireless-charging batteries. The offbeat Galaxy S6 Edge also has been grabbing the market's attention with the industry's first screen that is curved at both the left and right edges. They started official sales on April 10.

The new models' predecessors, the Galaxy S5 and the Galaxy S4, meanwhile, sold more than 10 million units in less than a month. Samsung did not clarify when the 10 million sales mark was reached for the Galaxy S6.

With the market cheering such cutting-edge technologies, industry watchers have been painting rosy pictures of the gadgets, with Hong Kong-based industry tracker Counterpoint suggesting the two will sell more than 50 million units this year, while some researchers even gave a 70 million unit forecast. Does anyone here actually have this phone?

I got mine a few weeks ago and am generally pleased (to be fair, I am not a power user and have only downloaded the email suite for work, a couple of games and some other basic apps.)

Screen is bright, photos are great, speed is also great.

My big problem, though, is battery life. Yikes. I can lose 40% - 50% of my battery overnight. Which means that if I forget to plug it in before I go to bed, I could have a dead phone in the morning.

I've tried playing with some of the settings and system options but am too afraid that I'll delete or disable something and won't be able to figure out how to get back.

Anyone else having this issue?

The battery is poor. All reviews mention this.

You can try this to see if it helps your battery life.

I switched off Google Now, Google's digital assistant, and my battery life skyrocketed ...

Even with generally poor battery life, losing 40%-50% overnight seems strange. bitburgr, is your phone connected to wifi at home?

Also, I did hear that Google Now has been wreaking havoc on batteries. I haven't had the problem, but it could be worth looking into.

Free memory upgrade on T-Mobile phones starting again on Wednesday. In addition, there may be a loophole where you can also get a $100 mail-in rebate from Samsung; making a 64GB S6 only $580-ish (plus tax).

T-Mobile is currently offering the 128 GB for the cost of the 64 GB, so... you could get a 128 GB for... $580ish

The cost of the 64GB (and 128GB) is currently $760. My guess is that particular discount disappears after Tuesday.

There is a reason why I took a math history course rather than algebra...

If you can handle a 32GB version, they are available on eBay for $500.

Warranty is questionable, though.

T-Mobile has cut their prices by $100 for 32GB & 64GB models, $200 for the 128GB model*. That said, it's still more expensive than Verizon.

* - This means the 128GB is the same price as the 64GB model ($660).

My fingers are crossed for a similar reduction by AT&T soon! It's tough for me to leave my grandfathered unlimited plan and corporate discount.

I just bought one, a 64 GB Galaxy S6 Edge in the Green Emerald color.
Will arrive tomorrow - was about $770 a/i. I had no plans to upgrade from my LG G3 32GB/3GB ram but my G3 suddenly started failing (cracks & battery) after buying it in July last year. Went to warranty and got refunded $700 that was the price i paid a year ago on amazon.

So i only paid $74 for my unlocked S6. LG G3 is fine now so i will have 2 phones. What i like the best of the G3 that the S6 will not be able to offer me is the microSD slot. I keep my G3 with a 64GB extreme pro on top of the 32GB and is very fine. 128GB S6 Edge versions are still further the $1000, so settled on the 64GB.

32GB is too little, no way i could survive on that. Hope i like what i receive tomorrow...

The LG warranty gives you money back AND lets you keep the phone?

Why wouldn't they just fix the phone? Or swap it out?
