OTish - Web Hosting - Who do you use?

Hi all,

I'm looking to host 3 very small low traffic websites - looking for web hosting suggestions. Don't need anything fancy, but needs to be reliable and cheap.

Can anyone recommend a web host? Thank you

I have been using 1&1 for my sites for a number of years without a problem. I have mail accounts with them too for my eponymous businesses .com and .co.uk accounts.

I have found them reliable and reasonably priced. Have recommended them to others. I am not too high tech and don't pay for IT support and have been able to use their very easy-to-use website design tools to produce a good site and their optimisation tools to get a good Google return (No 1 in the world just using my name without quotes).

That's my 2p (2c if you speak American).

Just a satisfied user. No other commercial links to them.

Justhost.com is one, internetplanners.com is another I use. I only have one site active at the moment and that is at internetplanner.com. Not had any issues with either.

I use https://www.nearlyfreespeech.net/ to hose my personal site, which is basically just a photo of me. It costs a few bucks a year. Like, literally, $3 or so.

You could always host on a server (or VM) at home like us ubernerds.

I do this because I need to test web sites that are built on multiple versions of multiple OSes.

Red face

I use and rave about KnownHost. They only do vps hosting and above so they are more for moderately advanced sites. I have been with them over ten years and support is second to none. I now have a vps and one dedicated server with them, no problems.

I've been using site5.com myself for a number of years for a couple of sites. I'm not real demanding with these sites, but so far haven't had any problems.

Plenty of good suggestions - I use Digital Ocean and it's been great. Fast, reasonably priced, easy to manage.

Another vote for justhost.com. Simple, cheap, reliable. Awfully nice help desk staff that actually help. Lots of other options out there.

I've used Web Hosting Hub for a couple of years: Unlimited storage allocation.

Just paid invoice and for one year: $107.88 (Spark plan).

I really like Dreamhost.

Had some not great experiences with Bluehost (for one, they asked me for my password in a chat).

GoDaddy. They aren't anything special, but they work.
