Saving Vietnam Phone number to Mobile phone contact
I just bought my Mom a dual sim cell phone since she has been going back and forth to vietnam. On one sim, I have an AT&T sim and on the other I have the Mobi Sim from Vietnam that I bought for her the last time I was there.
She asked me to save all of her vietnam friend's phone number to her contact. I am incline to save the vietnamese phone number as +84... This way she can call them if she is back here in the states or if she is outside of Vietnam. When she is in Vietnam and want to open up her contact book to dial, can she dial using the Mobi sim if the contact is saved as +84..? Can someone who is currently in Vietnam can help answer this for me?

+84 via AT&T will be expensive if she uses the wrong sim [either calling from stateside to Vn, or worse, calling Vn to Vn but on the AT&T line!]....so think twice and maybe discuss with your mother before inputting the numbers.
Also, check validity of prepaid Vn sim card. Years back the max was 1-3 months...maybe changed now?

It's part of the GSM standard that +<country code> will work, even if you're in the country served by <country code>, and it will be treated as a local-to-the-country call.
All my contacts are saved with +<country code>, that way, like you said, "it just works" no matter where I am. (expecting out-of-country charges if I'm outside of <country code>)
