iPhone/iPad App for offline Nav in Japan?
I sure love my Navigon for US and Europe travel but it doesn't support Japan. Anyone had any luck with an offline Nav app for Japan?

Interesting. Mapswithme has a free Tokyo map. I wonder how "populated" the map is. I've got to download it and try it.
repcool, I've searched off and on for a Garmin/Tom tom app that includes Japan. I've yet to find it.

There are several offline map apps for Japan, but unfortunately all of them are in Japanese. The basic map data is not available in a language other than Japanese, that's also the reason why TomTom and Garmin don't have those maps for sale on their websites.

I don't know if this thread is still followed, but still... A friend of mine just returned from a trip to Japan, he was using Spyglass app on his iPhone. He said it worked for him, he marked his hotel location and then navigated to it precisely.

Are you planning to drive through the country or navigate by foot around cities? I use the Ulmon travel apps which come with offline maps. Worked great in New York and London, and I've downloaded the Tokyo version for my upcoming trip this winter.
