Exclamation T-mobile (U.S.) and LTE.

T-mobile swapped some spectrum from Verizon, in order to de-fragment their respective spectra. I hope this speeds up roll out of LTE.

T-Mobile will continue to emphasize their HSPA+ for the next few years despite that.

Looking at peak data rates, HSPA+ is not bad at all. The peak data rates are much higher than most ISP's offer residential consumers.
I am not acquisitive, so I am always behind in adopting new technologies, I am quite content with real HSPA+ speeds even without the bump to 42 Mbps.

Will batteries keep up with LTE speeds if I/one did find a way to use those speeds?

I regularly see speeds in the 20s in DC, which while far short of the 80-100 I see at home, is damn good for wireless. Unfortunately, their coverage outside of metro areas is piss-poor.
