Exclamation List airports with body imaging scanners

If there isn't such a list, let's compile one. We could include two categories (airports with such scanners and airports without them) because it is also good to know where one can go as an alternative, e.g. I think JFK has them but EWR doesn't (at least I haven't seen any yet).

In addition, it would be great to know where they are used for secondary screening only and where they are used for primary screening on everybody.

Just copy and paste the list to make it easier.

Thanks,
Till

Thanks!

Anyone know for IND and ORD. I might be taking those more often in the future. Haven't been to DFW and IAH in a while. Last time, though, I didn't see any. But that's why I didn't list them. Also didn't see any at LAX this February but there might be some in other terminals. Who can help?

I'll put EWR in the WITHOUT list as I haven't seen any there lately. Mostly flying CO. Feel free to correct me.

Keeping the list alphabetic might be too much to ask but would help tremendously if we want to use it as a quick reference tool on this site.

Till

DCA does NOT have WBI, IMO because, in this case, what is good for the goose (the general traveling public) is not good for the gander, Congresscritters.

Let me amend to say that DCA did have scanners at one time, but apparently they have been removed according to any recent list I can find and according to a new member, staceyjda:

I did find out (hubby called TSA) that at DFW the strip search machines are located in terminal D checkpoints 18 & 22. Check point 27 (terminal D) does not have the scanner--neither do the other terminals. The TSA person he spoke w/said you can just pick anther security entrance and then access the rest of the sterile area after going through w/out sexual harassment/violation (yes, those last words are mine, not his). And get this--they don't even have the strip search machine at DC...Surprise, surprise!

IND has them, but they were not used in primary screening at least until early this year.

SFO is using them as primary screening tools as far as I read. I have to fly through there soon. Anyone know if there is a way to avoid them (such as a checkpoint without them)? I will refuse if I have to, but I prefer not to make a scene.

ORD didn't have them at Terminal 2 when I flew out a couple of weeks ago. None at IAD (Dulles Diamond) checkpoint. Can I ask not to be screened using that machine if I encounter one this upcoming trip?

I think the question is, "Which airports use them as a primary screening device?"

1. Cleveland
2. San Francisco (international terminal in particular)

and overseas...
1. Major airports in Russia
2. Amsterdam/Schipol (certain locations)

After I posted a new thread about avoid WBI, it occurred to me that perhaps the list in this thread could be expanded upon to indicate which terminals/checkpoints have the scanners, with input from those familiar with those airports on how to avoid them.

SLC - In Terminal 2 (DL), but not Terminal 1
