Because it isn't clear in the video. You can't see if the bins were carried around the X-ray machine, or if they were removed immediately after scanning and brought to Britney by hand (either way, star treatment).
I find it very hard to believe that her items weren't screened properly. If anything, the curious TSOs probably stopped all of the other screening lines and gathered around the X-ray to see what Brit carries around in her hand bag.
The way I saw the video, BS is standing there looking at the conveyor belt waiting for her stuff to come through, when a smurf walks in from the right side with her bin in his hands.

so first attempt this morning...ROC airport...Ice in a cup from airside McDonals.
quoth the TSO: "Ice is a liquid"
Didn't want to risk missing tihs flight (and of course its now running late...) so just tossed it in the trash. For the sake of Ron, I was really surprised my incredibly unstable Ice'splosive didn't go boom when i tossed it out.

Any surprise?
TSA can't even get very simple policy implemented.
How in the world can they get something as subjective as ice/no melt which is almost an impossibility enacted?
This is just another TSA CYA after getting caught not screening all people equally.

Obviously the TSO was wrong. Even pre-Britney; per the Travel Specious Alchemists; only ice from non-secure side sources is a liquid. Every one knows ice from secure side sources is a solid.
I'd suggest that everyone here call the TSA Hotline - 866-289-9673 and complain. They told me that the screeners at LAX had made a mistake and would be reprimanded, and that no policy has changed, including bringing able to bring ice through if there is no liquid. Somebody is blatantly lying here. It's the idiots at the call center, or Bob, or the website. Which one is it? Could a TSO here verify that ice is OK now per SOP?

1) I already posted the email response from the TSA contact us email address earlier in this thread.
2) Why do you think that the TSOs on this board would be able to "verify" this SOP? After what we have seen here, and in the past, what makes you think that anything a TSO posts here will be consistent among all TSOs and all airports?
3) The TSA itself admits that they are purposefully inconsistent with the rules, as you would have noticed if you read the whole thread:
Quote:
Regardless of whether an item is on the prohibited or permitted items list, the Transportation Security Officers (TSO's) have discretion to prohibit an individual from carrying an item through the screening checkpoint or onboard an aircraft if the item poses a security threat.
Therefore, TSA security screening personnel make the final decision on whether to permit items like a frozen water bottle into the sterile area of the airport.

1) With the video zoomed out, you can see the opening on the screener side of the X-ray device. You know, the one where they will grab you bags to re-scan them or to pilfer through your things. That opening is there so that they can grab a suspicious bag before the pax has a chance to touch it.
2) Video zooms in and out a couple times, and at times you can't see the opening clearly. However, you can clearly see the screener grabbing a black bag of some sort from the opening to hand it to someone off camera (in front of Britney).
3) If you watch carefully, you can see Britney's bin of items come through the X-ray into that opening. (There's a female TSO there with black hair, you have to look past her). The other screener grabs the bin and brings it to her.
