Gadgetfreak, I am impressed. That's a veritable BR store you got on hand.

Of course, I don't know how many gadgets and headset you are taking along this time () but could you get by with the rolling cabin bag and top it off with the 104x? That sounds like a neat combo for such a trip. Or did you decide you needed the 22 incher because of a suit or a projector? Not sure, but from what I hear the 22" model is a bit oversize and you gotta get lucky to take it on board.

Just saw that the 104x is available in black for $119 here:
http://www.amazon.com/dp/B000E9NKOU/...SIN=B000E9NKOU

Darn good price, I'd say.

Thanks for the wishes on the paper. Made very good progress in just a few hours. Got all my sources and the draft is there.

I had a serious B&R jones a few years back

I was thinking about the rolling cabin bag, BR104x combo in fact. The limitations of the cabin bag are the smallish top opening and the fact that because of the soft top, things stacked on top tend to fall out. But I still may go that route. You are definitely correct about not needing the 22 inch roller. I didnt mean it, even though I have one. I kept reading about them in other threads and wasnt thinking when I typed it. I actually have a 22 inch and an 18 inch B&R roller and I meant the 18 inch. No problem fitting that in the overheads unless I get to the gate late. Thanks again for the tips.

I use the Kensington Contour bag as an overnight roller. Website here and review here.

Is on sale periodically. Clothes in front compartment, laptop in middle, and gadgets in the back.

Also, to the OP, I use the Jansport Driver roller backpack which works just as well as the Kensington.

I ended up going with the B&R 18 roller and the Metro. The Metro holds a lot more than I thought. I was able to put a change of clothes in a EC12 inch folder in the full length zip pocket at the back of the Metro in case I had to check the B&R for some reason. So I was able to get everything I needed into the Metro and didnt have to use the much larger and heavier B&R 104x.
