I know based on what I've seen so far Im probably dreaming but here goes. Dh and I purchased 6 pieces of Andiamo Valoroso in steel apparently about a month before they went out of business. We had also planned on getting 2 more small pieces but the store didnt have them in stock and we thought we didnt need them at the time since our carryons were still in good shape and what the heck....we could order them later. I just found out 2 weeks ago that that wasnt going to be likely. I managed to find a 15" inch wheeled accessory tote in steel but Im still on the hunt for the 18" wheeled 6 pocket tote for which I think the number is VT18W. Ive found it in black but Im looking for steel. If anyone has a lead on one anywhere holler please. Im not so much looking for a deal as I am looking to finish the set....lol. Im willing to ship from absolutely anywhere to Canada. Oh and btw there is still a company out there that has some pieces if anyoone is looking which is where I found the 15in. Google Fink's luggage.....very good service btw !
Thanks all

Hey everyone!

So my mom got me luggage for Christmas last year ( Tommy Hilfiger) - http://www.bestcovery.com/tommy-hilf...gage-set-black

It's not even been a year yet and the suitcases have frayed and the outside lining has even ripped close to the handle. I've got a trip coming up in October. I'll be travelling about 25,000 miles in three weeks.

Being the huge mommys boys that I am, my sweet mom went and surprised me with new suitcases on the fear my current suitcases would not make the journey. She got me two 28" Andiamo Bravo collection. These things looks like beasts and have a lot of compartments.

However I've been through a lot of luggage that doesn't seem to last long with my travels so I'm a little skeptical about these suitcases. Especially after she told me she paid $115 CAD ( $110 USD) for each 28" case. I thought "Great. another cheap suitcase that will last me one trip"

After reading 10 pages of this thread everyone seems to has a lot of good things to say about this brand, although from what I've read the "bravo" edition isn't the greatest.

Time will tell and hopefully it will last.

The Andiamo Bravo line is very good, and is likely on par with Tumi, Briggs & Riley, etc.

The Andiamo Valoroso line was almost over-built and is ultra durable.

I live Up in the Great White North and it looks like Liquidation World here in Canada got the rest of the Andiamo Stock. The Valoroso Collection is priced at $144 for individual pieces while the Bravo is priced at $68 for each piece. I have picked up two 26", two 24" and two 22" Valoroso pullman. I picked up the Bravo computer bag for $68.

I can pick up the large Valoroso garment bag for $188 and the wheeled 22” tri fold garment bag for $144. So my question is do I stay with the Valoroso line at $144 or do I get the corresponding Bravo piece at $68.

Thanks in advance.

In your choes, and at these prices, I would choose Valoroso for the ultimate quality and luxury. However, you can't go worng either way.

Are they available online?

BTW, welcome to FT!

Till's comments

Interesting news... Just to echo Till's comments - Andiamo is seriously overbuilt/engineered. Feels like it could withstanding severe abuse and keep on ticking...

I checked my TX2 twice so far while packed to the gills and as Till found, it doesn't look any worse for the wear. Just wish it had multiple compartments a la Air boss.

Thanks for the advice. I will go with the Valoroso line. Liquidation World is not selling the luggage online. I had to wind up going to 4 stores in the area to get the entire set. The were also selling the Pathfinder Revolution XT line too at $68 but I think I will be happy with the Valoroso line.

I am happy for you to have this opportunity. However, as a great fan of Andiamo, B&R and Red Oxx products, let me add a balancing perspective: Do you actually need 2 pieces of each model? If so, go for it. If not, my expereince has been that it is best only to buy what you'll actually need in the foreseeable future. Materials and technology are always evolving and you'd feel like buying something new later - so leave some room for those developments. Otherwise enjoy your new bags!

Aktchi, perhaps he got a second set for his wife or somebody else. That said, I have also bought double pieces in the Valoroso line albeit in different colors. For example I have the duffle bag in black and grey.

On a recent trip to Germany I used the 22" garment bag as checked luggage and the 18" 6 pocket tote as my personal item.

It was the second checked trip for the garment bag. Still no traces. Looking like new.

I totally LOVED the tote. Extremely practical and very spacious. I put a lot of stuff in there.

I have now tried the rolling 22" garment bag with the tote and the duffle on top. Unfortunately, I must attest that the balance is such that it will fall forward when you put another bag on top unless you have really packed both bags to be particularly weighted to the backside of each bag.

However, rolling and maneuvering with a bag on top is cinch. No problem at all and very smooth. The velcro latches on the bag of the hand carry pieces are worth gold.

I'll add that the garment bag did get searched by the TSA although I had nothing packed in there that could have excited their curiosity. There was a gilt wooden picture frame but that was it. Otherwise, no cables, no electronics, just clothes. I still pertain my assumption that the TSA is a) not "un-inclined" to find something valuable, b) likes to control stuff where they know they will find nothing so that it looks as if they are working hard on the random checks, and c) targets preferably expensive looking bags and bags that are not locked.

The Valoroso clearly looks expensive and it's not easy to lock. Mine wasn't locked. My Rimowa gets searched almost every time, btw.

I'm happy that our Canadian friends also are getting some nice deals once in a while.

Happy TG,

Till

Hi Guys, luggage is for my wife and myself. I also have 3 children and we do at least one trip a year. In my previous job I did 150 days out of the country. I am now down to 50 to 70 days. I have toasted a number of so called good sets of luggage in the past. I look at this set lasting me for a long time. Reading this site I get the impression that the Valoroso line is as good as it gets. At 80% off list I feel I can’t go wrong (I hope).
