I doubt I am the only person who prefers to read whilst traveling. ...
Just finished The Alchemist. Why, oh why, I keep asking myself do I find myself getting misty-eyed at every single thing (theme from Survivor: Tocantin, Amazing Race, etc.)? I cried several times, and the book isn't even a sad one! Coelho says Laurence Fishburne has optioned the book for a film; I can definitely see one of the slumdogs as the Spanish boy.

The Alchemist was optioned before.. nothing much ever happened... so I'm happy to know that the movie is finally going to be made. Although I think I'd love a movie based upon The Valkyries even more.
There is a symphony written for The Alchemist -- you might enjoy it and, Paulo Coelho used to be the lyricist for the rocker Raul Seixas (in Brasil, long before The Alchemist was published).. before he was jailed for writing seditious lyrics (you know how touchy south american governments can be at times).
This is a great idea! At the Worldclub DTW there is a basket for "Take a Book/ Leave a Book." It seems well used and I usually see people utilizing the service.
