I'm new here, and interested in getting a new carry-on.
- My primary need is for business. I'm going to be on the interview trail a lot this winter, and will need a carry-on that can carry 2 suits and enough clothes for at least 3 days.
- However, I would really like to be able to use this carry-on for general travel, and for international travel. So it's got to be small!
I already own an eBags Weekender Convertible, and this is okay, but I would like something sturdier, smaller, and more suit-friendly. I recently bought a Skyroll roller-bag, but found that it was *too* big for the overhead compartment on any flight that I went on. I'm going to return it.
Here are the choices that I am considering:
1) Briggs and Riley Baseline Executive Garment Bag - $72 on Overstock
2) Briggs and Riley Suiter Tote #235x - $209
3) Red Oxx Air Boss - $225
4) Skyroll, non-rolling - $99
I've heard a lot of good things about the Air Boss, but am highly tempted by the great deal for the B&R garment bag. Any thoughts?

I dont see the Executive Garment bag on the B&R web page. What is the model number. That is also a crazy low price for B&R. I have the B&R 235X. I like it a lot. Im a little concerned about 2 suits. It is great for one. Two would probably be okay but I have never tried it. Another one I think you should consider is the B&R Compact Garment Bag (Model 375). It is a trifold bag so it is very compact. I recommended it to someone who does a lot of international business travel and they love it.
Oh, and pardon my manners, welcome to Flyertalk!

I was watching and waiting for the B&R Baseline Upright Rolling Garment Bag from Overstock.com for $130 but waited too long and it's no longer available. I'm currently watching the TravelPro Platinum 5 Garments-2-Go for the same price (only available in red).
I've also considered the B&R Executive Garment Bag to slide over my TravelPro Wall Street VIP Deluxe Expandable Rolling Computer Brief which can carry 2-3 days of clothes along with laptop, dvd player, headphones, ect... but the more I think about it, I think a bigger bag for suits and other clothes would be better, along with my every day Solo brief for computer and accessories.
If the B&R Baseline Upright Rolling Garment Bag comes back at around $130 I'll jump on it, if not I'll likely go w/ the TravelPro Garments-2-Go for the same price.

Definitely agree that you got a steal of a deal on the B&R. I paid $169 deep discount for a B&R carryon, but it's a great piece and they give a lifetime guarantee.
I received my B&R Executive Garment bag in the mail last week, and packed it for a weekend trip yesterday. Unfortunately, I'm going to return it, because of the following problems:
1) It doesn't hold enough. I was hard-pressed to pack:
- 2 dress shirts
- 2 pants
- running shorts
- 3 T-shirts
- socks and underwear
I ended up bundle-wrapping this into my eBags weekender convertible, and it only filled half of it.
2) All of my clothes were wrinkled.
I couldn't figure out a way to pack the garment bag without getting my shirts and pants wrinkled. I think bundle-wrapping will be better, although I might try using packing folders.
3) There is a lot of wasted space, due to the way it's constructed.
4) It's pretty heavy. Although it is made of strong material, so this might not be a big issue.
I gave it some thought, and am opting for an Air Boss, since I've had such a good experience shopping with Red Oxx. It's a little costly, but they were happy to exchange a Mini-Ruck backpack that I recently bought there for the Air Boss.
