Best choice: Briggs 20" COMPUTER carryon - has space for a laptop and all your other stuff. Awesome.

I LOVE my Briggs and Riley and would not trade them for anything. I have both a small rolling laptop bag that holds the laptop, several work files, etc and also have the larger expandable rolling laptop bag that holds the laptop, many files AND can even carry a change or two of clothes on overnight trips.

On top of that, the unique connector on the back of the B&R laptop allows me to securely fasten the bag to the handle of my suitcase so that it rides very nicely and tightly, Much better than the belt type connections that so many bags use. I have bought 6 B&R pieces on eBags and one at the luggage store. I would not trade them for any other luggage. Although I haven't had to use it, their warranty is the best.

Just thought I'd add that I had a Samsonite 17 inch Spinner case - sounded great in theory - four wheels underneath, plenty of pockets, and small enough to use as a carry-on... and it was the worst bag I've ever owned...

It lasted less than a year with very infrequent use - the wheels barely turn, the nylon is ripping, and the zipper is broken. I was always very partial to Samsonite, but after this bag - never again.

The quality of Samsonite products has been slipping for years...It's gotten so poor that they're quite purposely cannibalising their main brand (which used to be premium) with Black Label and even Timberland. If you want a mainstream brand offering high quality, go for Delsey instead.

AGREE COMPLETELY. The other nice thing about the B&R bag is that it fits under the seat when necessary.

After a lot of research, I bought a Wenger Patriot and I think it is excellent and extremely good value (you can find it for well under $100 online). It is ideal for overnight trips or for situations where you have lots of files or gear to transport in a carryon. It appears pretty big at first glance, but has fitted under every seat where I have had to put it under rather than overhead. The separate laptop bag that comes with it allows the rollaboard to be left (with a receptionist or in the rental car) and thus present a more business like appearance when visiting companies. I find it very flexible, well made and has fitted my needs perfectly.

Had one, hated it with a passion, gave it away.

My question would be wheeled or non wheeled backpack for the laptop. is wheeled backpack still considered a personal item?
