TUMI 19 Degree Carry-On

I'm shopping for a new carry-on, standard US 22" size. I've owned several TUMI backpacks and always been a fan.

I was pleasantly surprised to find that the new 19 Degree suitcases are quite a bit cheaper, even with VAT, in Germany than in the US. I'm hoping that the polycarbonate models will be more resistant to scratches than their aluminum brethren, the lower cost is also nice.

Anybody own or have experience with these bags? Thoughts on poly vs al? Can the poly stand up to being checked occasionally? Any chance of packing a suit in the 22" and having it be remotely presentable?

Thanks in advance for the help!
