Modobag -- a bag you can ride through the airport

Not sure how I feel about this. On one hand, it's kinda awesome and could be useful if your flight's delayed. On the other, $1000 is a lot of money for a bag. Thoughts?

Considering a lot of airports have moving walkways for longer walks or airport trams to get you from one terminal to another terminal I would never use this. Also, factor in the cost and lost luggage space compared to the space in my airboss I would not buy it.

BTW and FWIW, these guys have the design wrong. The bag needs to recline with the extended luggage handle as a back and headrest.
And BTW.....I'd buy one of these in a heartbeat if they could work out the kinks. I walk at least a 100km a year in airports.

With the recently introduced restrictions on Li-Ion batteries (capacity limited to 100 Wh, 160 Wh with additional restrictions for carry-on bags) this thing has been rendered practically worthless for air travel.
Additionally, it weights 8kgs empty, which will disqualify it on all airlines imposing a weight limit on carry-on baggage.

Apart from all the valid comments upthread, your would look like a real dofus scooting around on one of those things. And at 3x faster than walking, you are going to be a moving liability, especially given how low to the ground you are. I can see airports banning this in short order....
Finally, walking is good for you and I for one love the walk to/from the gate, especially after being cramped for a 10+ hour TATL/TPAC.
