Ikea Packing Cubes

Was in Ikea today (Vantaa, FInland) so you may or may not find them.

They had a pack of 5 packing cubes. They seem quite soft, so I am not sure how much support they will give, but for 10euro for all 5

1 large, 1 medium, shoe bag, and 2 smaller bags.

Seemed a good buy to me - does anyone have any experience of these?

I love to use both packing cubes and folders and I have collected many brands over the years but not any from Ikea. I searched them but could not find any to even look at, even on Ikea web site. Eagle Creek were the pioneers in this field and if you can I would stick with that brand. Victorinox makes a nice cube as well.

I did find this not so gleaming review at http://www.fodors.com/community/trav...olders-etc.cfm .

We use packing cubes. We have some of the Eagle Creek ones, as well as some from Samsonite and Ikea. The Eagle Creek bags are the best. The Samsonite ones are okay, but have a flexible "frame" that is a bit of a hassle and of little use. The Ikea ones, on the other hand, are so lacking in structure that they don't keep things as neatly in shape.

lol, that was the only reference I could find on Google too :)

I am off on a trip next week, so I will report back. I can take some pictures later.

My dream is to shop at an Ikea store! That would be great fun.

Given that you live near DFW - I take that as sarcasm.

There is an Ikea on the far other side of DFW airport but it would be an all day trip with the traffic and all. Will get there eventually.

Our Ikea stores in the USA don't seem to sell these cubes. Or I have missed them. In any event, I would be curious as generally I do like Ikea products.
