This was taken today (8/15/08) at the clean-up of a grass fire near my house...it's a good reminder that no matter how much a job sucks, there's always someone with a suckier job...especially when it's 100+ degrees outside!!

And this is my favorite 4 year old...my niece, Emily.

Black bears in Anan Creek, Alaska

We took a seaplane out of Ketchikan and then hiked back into the forrest. There is an observation deck over the river, and a blind right on the river.

A lucky grab last week on the beach in Florida. I had just left the resort pool bar with a few cans of Bud packed in a bag of ice. I plop down on the sand by the ocean taking in the night. A couple of thunderstorm systems to the west move by some 20 miles distant. I've got my camera on a mini tripod taking random shots. I manage to snag this shot by the second beer. Luck that both the moon and lightning are out this night.
