Is there anything to be done with an out-of-round filter?

I have a 77mm Rodenstock UV filter. It only screws on about a turn and a half before binding. The paint has worn off on alternate sides of the threads.

I finally broke down and bought a replacement.

Any thoughts of what to do with the Rodenstock now?

It would probably make a nice coaster, though it also might scratch the table with the threads.

I think you need to just write it off.

You might use it to scrutinize IDs in the screening line.

Hard to through this kind of thing away, isn't it?
