I see that you are enjoying one of our SF summer days. As Mark Twain supposedly said, "The coldest winter I ever saw was the summer I spent in San Francisco." The good news is that the fog usually dissipates in the afternoon -- at least for an hour or so.........
I like the way you have shot your picture with the view framed by the lovely iron grillwork. Looks like a very special suite.

Watching the fog roll in at night was quite a sight.

From the Grand Hotel National on Lake Lucerne, looking toward the old city (digitization of an APS negative - remember APS? - so the quality is not great; photo taken in 1999):

Two views from the Hilton Budapest (the Hilton on Castle Hill, on the Buda side of the city) (2004):
To the left (the Danube River, Pest and the Parliament building):
To the right (Fishermens Bastion and more Pest):

Which hotel were you at in Positano? The views are stunning!! And the hotel ain't too shabby-looking, either. I'd love to stay there.

Thanks, the name of the hotel is Il San Pietro. It's a spectacular property built into a rock, with its own private beach as an added bonus.

From the Hotel St. Martin in Colmar, Alsace, France. In contrast to most of Colmar, this old building (away from public view) was sadly dilapidated (1999):

Some shots from the 12th floor of the Hilton Ocean Walk in Daytona Beach, Florida. Honestly, not that great of a destination, but I did what I could with the situation I was given (review of the hotel/stay here).
One of many nice things about being on the 12th floor is that I was pretty much at the correct height for birds to soar, and they did. A lot.
And after the three days of monsoon finally let up, the sunrise was actually rather enjoyable, again with the birds.
