I like the way you have shot your picture with the view framed by the lovely iron grillwork. Looks like a very special suite.
I took a few more shots and I'll probably post those at some point. I actually did enjoy the time I spent in SF, even with the fog and the slightly cold days. The fog burned off by 11am and the only places that were really cold were by the water and Nob Hill (where our hotel was).

Watching the fog roll in at night was quite a sight.

From the Grand Hotel National on Lake Lucerne, looking toward the old city (digitization of an APS negative - remember APS? - so the quality is not great; photo taken in 1999):

From the top floor of the Hilton De Soto in Savannah, GA. Pic was taken with my wife's snappy so PQ is not very good.

Hotel isn't recommended, but the view was nice.

Which hotel were you at in Positano? The views are stunning!! And the hotel ain't too shabby-looking, either. I'd love to stay there.

Thanks, the name of the hotel is Il San Pietro. It's a spectacular property built into a rock, with its own private beach as an added bonus.

From the Hotel St. Martin in Colmar, Alsace, France. In contrast to most of Colmar, this old building (away from public view) was sadly dilapidated (1999):

Some shots from the 12th floor of the Hilton Ocean Walk in Daytona Beach, Florida. Honestly, not that great of a destination, but I did what I could with the situation I was given (review of the hotel/stay here).

One of many nice things about being on the 12th floor is that I was pretty much at the correct height for birds to soar, and they did. A lot.

And after the three days of monsoon finally let up, the sunrise was actually rather enjoyable, again with the birds.
