Kalboz, SQ4000, mvtm and organgutan,
Thanks for the kind words.
I think it was a stroke of luck that it turned out ok. Took it in mid day (strike one), with cloudy & dramatic sky (showers all the time there), through a dirty window (strike two), but with colorful buildings. I post-processed it in LR2 by adding a little saturation.

Some loud bangs and flashes outside my room on Sunday night freaked me out for a second until I realized that they were just a fireworks show being launched from the median of an active road right outside our room. Not too bad.

Stayed there twice on my recent trip around SE ASia (a total of, IIRC, about five nights between two stays). Nice place, though I'm guessing it's faded slightly since its days as the Le Meridien. Not terribly convenient for seeing Singapore itself (I have a veritable collection of the big round stickers they give you at SIN when waiting for the hotel shuttle, which I got every time I went into the city itself!), but a nice "rural" retreat (as rural as you can get in Singapore! ).
Great picture! Is this view from the rooftop pool? I kept forgetting to go up and check the view out before sunset and only saw it while it was dark--I could tell the ocean wasn't far but couldn't see what you did.
Prices at Changi Village are among the better prices for decent hotels on the island, which was the attraction for us...

Yes, new coats (lots) of paint needed for their exterior wall.

The view is from my seaview room on the 7th floor. A change from the city buildings view when waking up in the morning.

I agree and there's lots of cheap local food stalls next door.
Actually, I'm on the 5th floor, not the 10th. The crop I've picked and the relatively wide angle of the shot might give you the impression I'm on a higher floor.
