Well done, Anglo Large Clawed Otter. Did you do any post processing on this?

IIRC, I sharpened it a bit, but I believe this one maintains the original exposure level. Temperature may also have been tweaked slightly. I'm finally starting to get more comfortable with shooting Manual mode on my new Canon 40D, and am really enjoying what it is producing.

Celebration of Light - Vancouver, Canada

A few shots from one of my room's windows at the Sylvia Hotel on English Bay in Vancouver during the international fireworks competition, Celebration of Light. This was from the Team USA display.

Wow, Abby, nice pics of the fireworks. Did you plan to be there, or was it pure chance you had such a view?

Thank you, boxo!

It was a bit serendipitous, actually. I didn't know the fireworks were on when I called the hotel and they told me they had a last-minute cancellation, although the rate would be higher than usual. I said I'd take it, as it sounded like fun. And it was a lot of fun!

Well that's a cool photo to wake up to - my dad was born in Lindau im Bodensee.

Some photos from my recent stay at the Sheraton South Padre Island. Shame the island got hit by Hurricane Dolly just a week after my stay.

Hehe! I stayed there not too long ago. But I think my room was on the other side of the hotel, so here's some of the view in the other direction.
