Not quite from my hotel room - from the roof of the parking garage of the Four Points in Cocoa Beach. I took my camera with me on a trip to Phoenix, planning on staying an extra day and had a shoot location picked out. When forecasts turned to rain, I hunted for somewhere in the country for a layover with a decent chance for clear skies. It was an ugly night for an eclipse across most of the county, but I ended up choosing Orlando, then I followed weather.com's radar trying to predict openings. I managed to catch a few shots before clouds socked us in for the night mid-way through totality.

Oh well, I get to try again in 2010...



40D, 100-400/4.5-5.6LIS + 1.4TC, tripod, MLU - composite of shots over 2.5 hours
