The romantic city of Colmar...
And the amazing Auberge de L'Ill, a three Michelin star restaurant with its own hotel. One of the most romantic restaurants I've seen in a long time.
We didn't go thirsty that night.
And the food was so good that I forgot to take pictures. I only remembered it for dessert.
Up Next: Hamburg

As the MO was fully booked, I decided to try the Charles hotel. I didn't regret it, as this definitely is the other great hotel in Munich.
The Bavarian welcome amenity was just one of the many personal touches that made my stay very enjoyable.
A room with a view.
Oktoberfest requires preparation. First, a typical Bavarian breakfast with Weisswürste. The spread at the Charles didn't disappoint.
Then, a hearty meal at Spatenhaus, one of my favourite restaurants in the city. Their Kaiserschmarrn is legendary.
It was a glorious day in Munich, with temperatures over 20°C.
Oktoberfest is always a great time for some people-watching, as many are wearing Tracht.
Leave your BMW at home, this is what's hot during the "fifth season", as locals call it.
Schottenhamel is always a good choice for some serious action.
More food, to lay a solid foundation for the beer.
The oversize Brezn was fresh and delicious.
Oktoberfest is always a great time to come to Munich and the Charles a great hotel that I'll return to.

This was a very short business trip to Dubai via Doha, so only very few pics.
The Burj Khalifa will never cease to amaze me.
This teddy bear looks like he could use some Xanax.
Sleek Hamad International Airport (HIA) and the gorgeous QR Dreamliner.

A stroll through the lovely countryside of Geneva often ends at L'Auberge d'Hermance, where the seasonal menu was excellent as always.
Half of the things in this picture are actually amuse-bouches.
Veal tongue.
The scallops were hidden below the endives.
Boar ravioli. Out of this world.
Partridges.
And to finish a Schwarzwälder Kirschtorte. (Black forest cake)

Sorry to jump inhere, but I literally just found this thread for the first time. (been lurking on FT for a while, only now posting regularly)
Would it be alright to post some pics I've taken on previous trips? Or would that be against the spirit of the thread?

Indeed... ^
Welcome to the thread, GrandMoffJoseph and thanks for posting. While it is true that the spirit of the thread is to post recent pics, you're of course welcome to post older ones as well. The quality of the pic is more important than the date it was shot on.
