Agree. After getting the Feiyu G4, I can't imagine it anything other way. The footage is so much smoother and never suffers from that horrendous gopro tremble you often see. It's weighty but worth it depending on application.

I was waiting for the 5 since my 3 just died. But seeing the new Sony action with optical IS makes me want to switch over. Sony has been killing it with their sensors recently.
I guess I'll have to wait for some real world reviews of both

GoPro4 Silver package is only $250. I bought it last year for $400 . While I'm happy with it, the price drop is too much

Heh... don't get mad but a LOT of people are getting the GoPro 4 silver for $99 from walmart and/or using their credit card price protection guarantees...

It will only get worse for Go Pro - their earnings were disappointing and they're losing market share to a ton of new competitors...... others have figured out how to build a better mouse trap perhaps....

Recently bought a Hero 5 Black.
Really nice device as long you don't use it in low light. Then the sensitivity is as poor as a phone cam.
It features wide field, 240fps with narrow field and 1280x720, nice for slo-mo, 1920x1080x120 fps ia a nice compromise.
And it is highly portable (only 150g). I bought a $20 suction cup which I can also use aboard aircraft: paste it on the window to take takeoff and landing videos. I have seen many such videos on Youtube.

GoPro as travel camera?
Normally, I go on trips to do serious photography with my Fx camera and lens. However, traveling with them do get kind of cumbersome with the amount of gears that I have.
I've been looking into less serious alternatives. Something that doesn't hinder my travel but yet allow me to capture something better than what my smartphone could.
My question is, how good are GoPro and the action cameras varieties on the still images? I know they're meant for video, but how good and flexible are the image qualities on still photography? Is the difference noticeable from, say, a smartphones? How flexible are the images in post processing?
