Cheap cameras at Sony stores (closing sales)

This week is the final week for most Sony stores - with the exception of a few premium locations, they are all closing. This means 50% discounts on all of their cameras, including things like their 4K camcorders, and the RX1. I picked up an RX1 for 50% off yesterday ($1300) and couldn't be happier. I think this is the last week, so if you have one close to you, call and see whether they are still open, and check out what is left.

While you were there, did you notice any particularly good prices for higher end cameras such as NEX or the A7/7R? Or lenses? If I could get 50% off on an A7R, I might have to find a store.

I think the A7R was too new to make it to the outlet stores I visited, plus I suspect they would rather send those back than discount them. Still, I was surprised to find the RX1 available at such a discount.

Thanks for the post. Did you happen to notice if their were any deals on Sony laptops as well? Or were the discounts just on cameras?

I suspect you are right. Nice find on the RX1.

Which store did you get the RX1 at? I'd like to try for a NEX7 or RX1 (although the RX1 does not have a changeable lens, so I need to consider that).

Good for you. I thought that was all a scam. I called the stores in my area once they announced the sale and the told me that they didn't have any stock other than xbox and accessories.
