Vox: Why Expedia buying Orbitz could be bad for travelers

If the government lets Expedia buy Orbitz, we could wind up with an online travel duopoly for the foreseeable future. That could be bad for both the travel industry and travelers.

Expedia's customer service is atrocious and prices not very good when compared to Orbitz/Cheaptickets. I hope the acquisition can be blocked, but am not hopeful.

I really hope it can be blocked as well. I love Orbitz rewards. 1% on flights and 5% on hotels, along with combining it with promo codes and stuff makes a nice dent in my bang for my buck for hotels.

If this acquisition is allowed it really is just priceline and expedia as the only two OTA's left, I really hope it is blocked.
