Ongoing Thailand Meet a Flyertalker Thread [PRE-2015 ARCHIVE]

Bangkok is a popular spot for FlyerTalkers.

Instead of starting a new thread everytime, I thought we could have a hodgepodge of posts that could serve as stimuli for meetups.

I'm currently home in Phuket, not planning to be in Bangkok until New Years (Dec 30 - Jan 2), but I know others will have oportunities to grab a bite, a beer, etc between now and then.

PLEASE CLICK TO THE LAST FEW PAGES FOR THE LATEST INFO ON AVAILABILITY OF MEMBERS AND TO SCHEDULE OR FIND A ALREADY PLANNED MEET

I live and work in Bangkok so am generally available.

Also if any are pressed for accomodations I could probably find some decent short-time 1-br units for ~ 1,000 THB per day.

Friday, Dec. 5 is a holiday (King's birthday/father's day) and Wednesday, Dec. 10 is a holiday (Constitution Day).

As mentioned previously if a do is organised am happy to attend. Am currently staying at New World Lodge Hotel. Fairly cheap, about 1300 Baht including breakfast. Agoda seems to have the cheapest on line rates.

Dinner: Sunday Nov. 30 6:00 PM Chanont Restaurant, 148 Sukhumvit Soi 4, an open-air Thai restaurant.

Location: Nana BTS, if daring take motorcy to Nana Tai Mansion hotel. Otherwise this restaurant is located far down Sukhumvit Soi 4 on the right-hand side between a motorcyle parts shop and a convenience store. It has an orange/white interior.

My upcoming Bangkok dates are December 16-19 and December 30-January 3. I am generally available during those visits, particularly the first one, when Mr. Megatop will be working.

I'll also be in Bangkok 17-19 Dec and interested in meeting up. It's only my second visit to the city.

Perhaps seanthepilot could use the first post in this thread to keep a running list of dates as people post 'em, sort of like a lounge-meets thread, so we can see and easily line up overlapping dates? Just a suggestion. I know lounge-meets threads that (e.g., SQ forum) have a running tally like that yield better results than those where people just post dates and places (e.g., DL forum).

Good idea. I tried plugging in peoples dates above.

Looks like mid Dec has a few dates that coincide with everyone's visits. Advise me on the dates and place, and I'll fill in the blanks.

Also started Dec 30th... but i have no preference on location so far.

I'll try to keep the 1st post as updated as I can. Is it people's opinion that once the dates have passed, the posts can then be deleted? Let me know. I'm good at following instructions

Yeah, that's a good idea to keep the first post clean. I'd be up for something on the evening of December 30th. And December 17th or 18th would work too.
