Maybe check with the bank(s) you currently do business with?

Congrats on gaining PR status.

Lounge access where? Different airline labelled cards get you into different lounges. The Explorer card gets you insurance if you buy the ticket with that card, but it only gets you 2 lounge passes per year (IIRC). And only UA lounges, so I don't think it gets you into a lounge a Suvarnabhumi.

A little more specifics might help.

Last time I checked on the Thai AMEX card, you also had to spend miles to get into the lounge.

thanks for the info...

Thanks for this info. I had previously investigated the AMEX Orchid but don't see a lot of value in the annual fee, didn't know about the others.

Thanks for the feedback and recommendations.

Tchiowa: I hoped to find a card that offers lounge access like the American Express Platinum or Deutsche Bank Platinum (they both include the Priority Pass) and a decent travel insurance.

Right now I have an American Express issued in Austria - I might just move the card to Thailand, but the benefits here are not very good (e.g. spend miles to get into the lounge).
