Is this new? I am pretty sure that previously I have had the miles credited at the higher rate.

Not sure. You might have in the past (and I had too!) but you won't get the class bonus henceforward from July 1, 2012.

I can confirm that upgrades are available for sale on revenue tickets only. Valid booking classes are all classes where you can accrue mileage in ROP (except W, V, X, I, O and ID tickets etc.).

BKK-FRA is 25,500 THB Y/C and C/F and 51,000 THB for Y/F upgrade

Hi, just to confirm my understanding since I read in another forum that Thai used to allow redemption tickets to be upgraded @ the airport if available to higher classes and you get the miles for it too.
I currently have a redemption ticket in C and was thinking of upgrading it to F on FRA-BKK route.

Is this still possible? Will I get the miles for this?

Cheers!

btw: This is a redemption ticket from BMI.

See earlier post #300. It appears if the rules posted at the TG web site are strictly enforced, last minute upgrade at the check in counter is not permitted with redemption tickets (as well as some categories of deep discount economy fares). However, you never know until you ask. My suggestion would be to play dumb, and politely ask at check in that you'd like to do a last minute pay upgrade from C to F to see what happen. You now know the official rules, so be prepared to be turned down!

Have a good trip!

P.S. Please report back if you were successful.

Please, any info on Cost of one way upgrade BKK PEK. From M class to business? Is the standby upgrade only on checkin on or can it be purchased on the phone?

The table is still here: http://www.thaiairways.com.au/vwm/up...DL_card_EC.pdf

Some agents are still accepting lower classes and award bookings for standby paid bookings, so don't hesitate to ask!

Please update here about recent experience with paid upgrades

Hi All
What is your recent experience with this? How available is TG on the A380 FRA to BKK? and BKK to FRA?
Thanks!

Standby upgrade to F ex NRT

Hi All,

I am just wondering if the least expensive, non changeable business class fares from NRT-BKK are eligible for standby upgrades to F. The fares I am referring to are listed as "Royal Silk Saver Advantage" fares.

I would greatly appreciate any info about this.

Gave this a try this afternoon for my HKG-BKK flight. Both the ticketing agent and check-in agent said no upgrade on reward tickets after checking my booking info.
