what is my booking class on a thai airways ticket

Hi, ive used thaiairways a couple of times in the last month, and i found that for one of the trips i got class W, which should give 25% with royal orchid plus, but does not give any miles on my sas eurobonus which is the flyer program im normally using.

How do i find my booking class for a flight next week so i can choose royal orchid instead of sas eurobonus.

Thanks

First letter of the fare basis in your ticket is the booking class.
For example, if fare basis is QRYOWLAE, the booking class is Q.

http://www.thaiairways.com/en_TH/rop..._onTHAI01.page

That should be first class, which im quite certain was not the case

The 6 digits/alphanumeric PNR number you refer to is completely different from fare basis. When you book online on TG.com you will be able se the fare basis (you need to click in the menu list in the right side of the screen to see the fare basis).

But in general all the cheap non-refundable (and often non-changeable) TG fares are in W or V class, often called TG saver or value fares. Q class or higher are more expensive TG fares (to some extent flexible) but are hardly worth the additional payment to get a few miles/points if W or V class is available.

Thanks
Just go to Thai Airways website and check your booking. You'll need the 6 digit code and your family name. The booking class will be shown there.

Check your email receipt. It should list both CL and Fare Basis. I never seen them contradict, but if it does please share the screenshot. It would interesting to have a look at.

Booking Reference (PNR) - Fare Code - Fare Basis an example

The screenshot might help some who have asked:

Fare Class L
sale economy class, deeply discounted

Fare Basis LRL21KR
my guess at a decode is
L - fare class
R - return
L - ??
21 - max stay
KR - selling origin

Booking reference 7QXXVF

I refer to the booking number not a fare basis.

I believe "L" means Low (as in low season).

[QUOTE=SK AAR;28377330]I believe "L" means Low (as in low season).[/QUOTEyou mean the third letter L in my example?

It could be, I have no inside knowledge of the meaning of the third letter in a fare basis.
