Whatever time frame THAI had for installing lie-flat business class seats in the 772ER, I am sure it has been derailed to some extent by the engine problems of their 788. They had to take one or two 788 out of service at any one time for the fix. So capacity is short. Now it remains to be seen if they will take one or two 772ER out of service to install these lie-flat seats in the upcoming high season, versus dealing with this issue early next year.
HS-TJR made last flight from BKK to DMK on Sept 14, for maintenance/installation?
The rest of the 772ER are in active operation.

When Scandinavian Airlines refurbished their A330/A340s they were out of operation about a month at a time. They did a full refurbishment in all classes.

Thai Airways plans to retrofit its B777-200ER fleet in 2018 as part of a push to offer lie-flat business class seats across its long haul fleet. Thai Airways is also introducing a new premium product for its regional fleet, which will debut in 2018 on a retrofitted A330-300s.
The plan has been to retrofit the B777-200ER business class cabin by swapping out angled flat seats in 2-2-2 configuration for lie-flat seats in 1-2-1 configuration. The original plan was to retrofit all... six of these B777-200ERs in 2017. Mr Krittaphon said all six aircraft are now slated to be retrofitted in 2018.

Thai Airways is also planning to introduce a new regional premium product. The new business class product for short and medium haul routes will be a significant improvement over the current product now on Thai’s A330s, B777-200s and B777-300s, but will not be lie-flat. Mr Kittaphon said Thai plans to retrofit two A330-300s in 2018 and use these aircraft as a prototype of its new regional business class product. The product will likely then be used in the aircraft Thai acquires to replace its B777-200s and B777-300s.
The rest of the A330 fleet may also eventually be retrofitted, providing a consistent product across the regional network. The A330 and B777-200 business class cabins have a 2-2-2 configuration while the B777-300 has a 2-3-2 configuration. The seats are angled flat or recliner style, depending on the aircraft.

Hope you wouldn't mind me bringing this thread back, jus found it a few days ago. Does anyone has an update on the Boeing 777-200ER retrofit? I have flown their 777-200ER so many times, I can't wait for this plane to get a lie-flat Royal Silk Class Seat, and an actual Premium Economy Cabin! It seems like the retrofit process just keep getting delayed and delayed..
