I contacted Thai UK office by email and they stated that the conversion was automatic and their computer system wouldn't allow them to charge them anything other than the proper fare amount. I responded with a brief description of DCC and stated that they were in violation of MasterCard rules by not giving me the option to pay in GBP. I received no reply.

Citibank advised me to file chargeback after tickets are flown.

This is a problem in other Thai outstations as well. They do the conversion themselves and won't let you pay in local currency.

My THAI fares purchased online through the .co.kr website to my NZ CCrd are charged in KRW, which my NZ bank then converts to NZD - no DCC (AFAIK!).

The USD charges were reversed and recharged in GBP today. I am quite impressed.
