Yes, that would be good, a lie flat bed on a 12 hour sector would make for a much more pleasant trip. Those "angle flat" seats do not make for an easy sleep.

3 glasses are not enough to sleep on the angle flats! up from 5 you will sleep well, 7+ for recliners and 9+ for cattle class...

Exactly right, but you try getting 9 glasses in TG cattle!

PLEASE make a chart showing the correlation of airlines, class of service and drinks required to sleep. Also if you are taking suggestions please make the drinks required for the worse economy cabin "cirrhosis"

I would need to do some field research first. Would you sponsor (incl. my medical bill)?

Well, I can't say that TG consistent. BKK FRA last night TG'd from 380 to 777 with flat beds. Food service was a completely different product than I am used to getting on my normal AKL DEL route. Great cabin crew and excellent product. I am starting to think that there are several TG J products available and the BKK AKL or BKK DEL sectors get the inferior one.

I agree. I will not fly TG AKL-BKK. I'll fly SQ instead.

it was long known that during summer months, A380 will be replaced by 777-300ER on BKK FRA; A380 is coming back end of September
You certainly can not compare J on BKK DEL with J on BKK FRA
regarding food there is now the new long haul concept introduced on several routes to Europe and Japan and BKK FRA is one of it. BKK AKL probably not yet

Thirded! I think the consensus on this forum is that as well as "Smooth As Silk", TG is also famous for being "Consistently Inconsistent"

Overall, I have to say that TG service has if anything noticeably improved over the past few years, at least from the very small sample of routes (mainly LHR-BKK) that I fly.

That said, even the same route could vary noticeably - I seem to get consistently and noticeably better service (going in either direction) on the 773 flights than the A380 (e.g. individual greeting by name on the former, and never on the latter), though it could be explained by the fact that the latter are usually busier? That's not to say A380 service is not good - but it highlights the inconsistency.

TG LHR-BKK, Royal Silk, 3/7 glass of pure vodka, but not quite effective (I don't risk drinking it too much).

I have to say, we flew in J from BKK to DPS in May, and we got really old crew. Moms & pop's. But they were good, I mean from a service perspective. It was a 787. I also found it interesting that one of the old mom's had a beard growing. It was interesting to watch.
