Thai Airways International in last week’s schedule update revised Airbus A350 operations to Italy, which is extended into February 2017. Planned operation as follow.
Bangkok – Milan Malpensa A350 operates from 17NOV16 to 28FEB17, 3 weekly (This includes service in late-Nov 2016, switched from 747 to A350 in last week’s update)
Bangkok – Rome A350 operates from 16NOV16 to 27FEB17, 4 weekly (This includes service in late-Nov 2016, switched from 777-200ER to A350 in last week’s update)
Planned A350 service to Dubai will now operate until 15NOV16, instead of 30NOV16.

And I saw PR news from Thai webboard that TG will use A350 for Italy routes during 16 Nov 2016 to 25 Mar 2017.

No chance. You booked flight, not equipment.

Just booked TG461 BKK-MEL for Mar-2 via United Award in J.
The UA award calendar showed A359 for every date between Nov and March but we all know that is wrong.
Interesting enough, in a OAG data report I just now created, I show TG 461/465 both operating at 777 until 12/31/16, and an A350 beginning 1/1/17.
On TG website Feb-28 shows 777-200/300 and Mar-2 showed A359, so I am taking the risk and seeing if I get famously TG'd (Most likely).
Fun game we are playing here.

I think TG will update their schedules on a rolling basis. If you want the best change of a full flat bed you should probably select the 0005 departure from BKK rather than the 8am.

I took your advice and was able to switch to TG461 with the 773 after some work on my end.
I had to switch my ORD-PEK to ORD-NRT in order to make the connection, but that means it switched me from a CA B772 J from PEK to a TG A380 J from NRT, which is huge upgrade, and now I get 17hours in Tokyo and the TG 773!
Thanks!

It's a pity the A350 isn't on the route but I probably just got off my best Thai J flight ever. MEL-BKK, 777-300ER with the nice decor (ie not the bright purple/grey of the A380s). The service couldn't have been better. Food is a massive step up. No more 'bowls of slop and tin foil on tray. Individually plated. Had the Thai Samrab. Some good spice and great flavours. Also had the steak sandwich from 'all day dining'. If all their J flights were like this they would be ahead of CX, the problem is the consistency of product and service just isn't there.

...meanwhile, those traveling between Bangkok and Auckland (New Zealand) dream of an equipment improvement from the 777-200ER business seat to something more flat!

Love the reverse herringbone seats on CX (despite the cheap materials used), but CX food... Living in HK for 5 years, taking them numerous times between HKG and LHR/BKK/SFO - I never once enjoyed their biz main course. The problem is they heat every selection and put it on the trolley for you to choose - ensuring you get what you want - instead of preparing individual orders.
TG Food is getting much much better. If only TG would get rid of all those angled seats on the long hauls!!! That being said, I'd rather take TG's angled flat for regional flights over CX's regional biz - they don't recline that much!
