Which one? The 465 at 0030 or the 461 at 0810? According to the TG website the 465 should be operated by a 77W (full flat beds), the 461 looks like it will be an older 772 with angled.

If you have access to the seat map can you confirm the seating arrangement on your flight?

I just booked MEL-BKK flying out on Sunday night, back the following Saturday midnight.

The Sunday night flight shows as 777-300.. but the 29/OCT flight is showing as A350-900!?

Maybe they're going to run some test flights?

I have a free upgrade available with my gold membership. Not sure if I should use it for this round trip, or wait until there's more certainty. I think my upgrade expires in March 2017. My birthday is December, so I think I can use another upgrade then too.

No test flights without CASA approval. AFAIK, they do not have the approval so no flying A350 to Australia, full stop. TG is playing roulette with their customers.

I think that they are only updating a few days ahead or something.. anything past that still shows the a350 as of now.

I would not do it. You would be risking being TG'ed...

At least they are still committed to running them on the MEL route. I'll miss out this time (flying next week), but I'm flying again in Dec and Feb, so will save my upgrades for then!

I'm flying out of Melbourne on 30 Oct 2016 and now flight changed to 777-300 (staggered full flat).

Quite nice but I like complementary upgrade to F on 747-400 more (I was able to do that on BKK-MEL route last Saturday)

Looking like A350 going to used for Italian route now.

Thai Airways International (THAI) has opted to use its latest Airbus 350 XWB jets for its Italian services, starting from the middle of this month.

The flag carrier made the decision after it became apparent that approval from Australia for it to deploy the technologically advanced aircraft on its Bangkok-Melbourne route would not be forthcoming.

Still no public word from CASA on what they are asking for. Would love some transparency here. So sad, was really looking forward to flying this aircraft in December.
