First Class transit LHR-BKK-SYD
Hello FT, I am flying from London to Sydney later in the year with a transit in Bangkok. I have an approximate 12 hour stay from 6am to 6pm at the airport and wanted to ask whether other flyers have booked a day room at the Novotel? Are there any sleeping options staying 'air-side' or is the Novotel the only option. Thanks.

Why not just stay in the FCL they have slumber rooms*, you can shower, massage, etc. It is a bit of time where you may go stir crazy but you can always walk to the terminal for a bit.
*Someone more seasoned may know if they have a time limit.

The F lounge in BKK is nice, but not nice enough.
If you want to get a real bed and some real sleep go for the novotel. Very convenient and immigration with the escort is usually pretty quick. Same on the way back.
Otherwise you could leave your luggage in the F lounge, then take off for town and come back for a massage.

Thank you for the responses. Been to Bangkok many times and as much as I would like to catch up with friends over lunch in town I would rather sleep! I am familiar with the FC lounge but didn't know you could use slumber rooms all day (thanks for that tidbit) and would not want to overstay my welcome. I think I will book the day rate at the Novotel to sleep a few hours and then come back in time for a massage and meal prior to boarding my flight for SYD.

The Novotel is expensive and checkin and checkout can take time.

slumber rooms in F lounge are very very basic; not really good for a longer sleep.
But there is plenty other things to do during 12 hours in the F lounge and at the airport if you do not want to go down town.

The Novotel is near the airport but still requires a shuttle, outside door 4 as I recall.
Remember that F passengers at BKK must get on the kart at the gate rather than walk to passport control, or they'll chase you across the airport!

Faster than the shuttle, but Bangkok can be hot.

Go to level B1, the same level as the airport rail link to the city, pass the train station via the air-conditioned underground walkway (300 m) connecting the terminal to the hotel. The walkway is open 24 h."
