Help booking Thai award travel

Help booking Thai award travel
I am looking to book a Star award using Thai miles ,I have 170,000 miles to burn .
I have never booked a award using Thai before and I am looking for some advice before I start .
I have had some great awards using Dividend miles , but I dont know how "flexible" Thai are ?
I think I should be able to book BNE-BKK-NRT-NYC dest NYC-DEN stop DEN-NRT-BKK-BNE.
Do Thai ever let you make a trip in one direction without charging for a RTW trip e.g.
BNE-BKK-LHR stop LHR-NYC dest NYC-DEN stop DEN-NRT-BKK-BNE.
Any useful tips when booking with thai miles would be very welcome..

As I have had no response , I now have just 2 questions , If anyone can answer either I would be grateful.
I want to book a star alliance business award using ROP miles. The rules state you cant mix award classes (apart from First class awards), I can only find economy for a US domestic flight connection , would that be allowed as I am paying Business mileage on the whole trip.
On the award rules it says
Change of carrier not permitted after ticket issue.
After ticketing a fee of THB 2,850 / USD $95.00 is applied for reservation changes.
So If book now I can change the return dates when I get to 330 days out , as long as I use the same airline , has anyone had any trouble doing this ?
