Basically.

1. You will not get past the escalator dragon on your own with out an onward international reservation or boarding pass. (This can sometimes be overcome if like Dsquared you have sufficient chutzpah.)

2. The dragon will always let you through if you are with an escort.

3. Sometimes an escort will take you up even though you don't have an onward flight, but they are not supposed to do it and from time to time get raked over the coals by the airport authority for doing so.

They always have had in the C/BR lounges but in the new build-out in the dom concourse they don't. I'm anticipating they'll begin a re-do of the int lounge at some point which will knock out the plumbing we currently enjoy in the C/BR lounge.

I think in the future I'll show an itin (even if it's bogus) rather than persisting with chutzpah. That trains gone to the end of the tracks.

I think with a itin you will still need some chutzpah! The only thing they want to see is a Boarding Pass for a international departure.

Which is absurd considering the int transfer desks are beyond the security checkpoint. If that were to be the basis of an argument I would, once again, ignore the dolts entirely and walk up the escalator.

They've been up on the 3rd floor (Int Departure) for 4 years as of this past Oct.

What you're referring to is the domestic transfer desks.

the international transfer desks have been downstairs in the arrival area when the airport started...but I have not used them since then. Thanks for the update!

Yes, you are correct. Up until Oct of 2010 (IIRC) the transfer desks were indeed at the base escalator but then were moved upstairs and only the domestic desks remained downstairs.

I've done that occasionally or else a real itin, which I just cancel after I get through.
