We just went down to our local travel agent gave the dates we wanted to fly LHR/BKK 16th or 17th of April, and their system showed TG 916/917 all through April.
I said 16th would be okay then noticed it was on TG917 i realised this was most likely an error so refused to book on that flight even though it was the cheaper option.Anyway the assistant checked on the Thai website and read no more TG917 after March 26th after consulting with her colleagues they agreed with me that it was better to book TG911.

Here is the announcement:

I understand that the prospect of losing the LHR slots was a factor in the decision.
So what started as "reducing the, presumably not always profitable, BKK-LHR capacity" has now resulted in it being increased throughout the year.
Unless they swap the A380 for something smaller, but I expect they are under pressure to keep some F class on the route.

Yes, the reduced service for TG916/917 now shows on the THAI website. No Tuesday or Thursday flights from 27 March until the end of October.
It was only four weeks ago that they announced that TG916/917 would return for the whole year.
Makes you begin to doubt any announcement that's made.
Oh, and no English language ROP newsletter for Jan-Mar 2016 yet, only Thai!
