I don't think there's been enough seasons to draw any sort of conclusion. However, put in the context that TG made a decision (later reversed) to pull F from SYD altogether, it's safe to assume SYD is way down the pecking order of F routes.

Those people who got their tickets reinstated in First Class after getting downgraded -- after calling United, did they re-issue your tickets after getting the waitlist confirmed via Thai? Apparently, Thai is saying that United just "re-validated" my ticket and that they should have issued new ticket numbers.
Any one have experience on what the correct process is for this?
Here is the exact email from Thai LAX Reservations:
Mr. jglenn16,
Your ticket numbers are the same as before. My guess is they tried to "re-validate" the tickets rather than reissue. Unfortunately, due to technical issues between our system and United's, often when they re-validate we do not receive the changes. So, it is preferred that they "reissue" the tickets which will generate new ticket numbers. In order to prevent an auto cancel of the booking, the e-ticket needs to match the reserved flights in our system. If they give you a hard time, let me know.

Just got off TG476 a couple of hours ago and flew TG475 early last week. Both were booked as one ways through United MileagePlus. In both cases United "reissued" the tickets once Thai reinstated me back into F. The eticket numbers remained the same for both flights.

Tickets got "re-ticketed" via United with new eticket numbers. Thai confirmed everything looks good on their end, so hopefully I'm good to go.
TG475/476 looks to be more likely to get the retrofit 747 than TG471/472. However, it does look like TG471/472 may get it once in awhile according to flightradar24.com
