I was talking about the special Premium Lane shown here:
http://www.airchina.com/th/en/travel...7/229124.shtml
arrival in the 4. picture
departure in the 2. and 3. picture
various airlines are using this for their premium passengers using such a yellow voucher like shown in the 3. picture
I do not think they let you pass with just a business class boarding pass

I am not talking about the East or West customs clearance (East one is for TG and I always go through this when I arrive on TG whatever class I was booked)

If you're arriving into BKK on TG C you definitely can go to the fasttrack area to the right in the east immy section (never tried this at the west area) and present your TG C BP to go through. My understanding is TG doesn't hand out the fasttrack cards because of this allowance.

I flew in Royal Silk last week to Melbourne...nice flight, new 777 with the new flat seats but I was seriously angry when, having received the landing cards, and requested the e-Pass Fast track for Immigration, I was told ".... Oh sorry...no stock loaded...so very sorry....."
This is what happened to me four months on the exact same route, on the exact same flight......so I did not accept the "BS" being offered by the CSD....Khun Siththipunth and I demanded an explanation from him..he showed me the telex document which said "please explain to PAX no e-pass loaded in BKK"....so, as he said, "please...not my fault...." how typical is that?
Obviously, the cost to Thai to allow its Premium passengers use the e-pass lane in Australia is too high....so, like a "cheap charlie" airline, they produce some crap, time and time again, about "no stock"...hoping the passengers will just accept it like dumb sheep and not query this
Twice in a row is too much...I am switching to Qantas on this route....it took 56 minutes to clear Immigration while the SQ customers waltzed through in the e-pass lane....
Thai..you had better cop on to yourselves...idiots!!!

Those are some old pics!! At least they're from the 1 level immy/security times.

those special premium lanes separated from the two common large immigration areas still exist. I just went through in April departing and arriving in business on OS with a premium lane voucher on both occasions

old or new pictures, it does not matter

They're 'old' because the pics of exit security harken back to the days when immi/security were on the same level.
For entry I've never gone through the 'special premium lane' between the regular immi areas preferring to simply go through the east area to the far right where both fasttrack and TG C pax can speed through. This is the same area where, as an F pax, I've been escorted through each and every time.

But all in all, this is not the end of the world. The only possible difference is a maximum of say 25 minutes if you carried on your luggage. If your travel worries consist of this, you are indeed a very lucky traveler!

Anyway, I flew BKK/MEL on the daytime flight earlier this week and they didn't hand out express arrival cards (otherwise the service was very good). I queried, and they said they didn't have any (sorry, not loaded) but they did have express departure cards and they handed these out to J pax. At least they tried!
As it happened, there was no problem as the express immigration queues (incl the APEC queue) were closed and there was virtually no one waiting in the regular queue.

I fly EY tomorrow to BKK and they hand over Fast lane passes to business class passengers when leaving the aircraft at the gate, I hope they do the same for gold card holders....
Mote to self: don't fly LH. Don't think they have lay flat beds to BKk neither.
