Except with F gone, OZ and BR are now good flat bed options for TYO<>SGN.

Flew the 787 for the first time on BKK-SGN the other night, business was pretty empty, had seats in the front row 11. One disappointing thing is they don't give headphones on this short flight, used my own and even though the flight time is only 1hr 5min I managed to watch a 2 hour movie gate to gate so it is a bit ridiculous they don't give their business passengers headphones.
The seats are decent but the screens are a bit smaller than their 777's (though 16:9 I think) and the seats are narrow which would prevent a lot of people fitting in I reckon.

i did the 787 r/t bkk-sgn the other day. sat in 42F and 31F (bulkhead). 31F didn't have much legroom so best to avoid that row. 31C and and 31H were the worst seats i've seen on an airplane. you are literally in the aisle, no real bulkhead in front of those two seats. 42F was fine but i'm not sure i believe seatguru when they say the seat width is 18 inches. sure felt tight to me and there was no one sitting next to me. and i'm not big.

Good to know about the headphone thing. Is it like UA, with the front row having much better space for feet?

TG's explanation...."We had too many people asking for headphones."

That is just ludicrous. Like I said I managed to watch a full 2 hour film on the sector even with the safety demonstrations. Geeze come on Thai, get the simple things right and you might have a chance at figuring out the bigger picture.

Just saw Thai 787 pop up on DXB->BKK route in early July.
Interested to try it out...if it sticks on the schedule.

Well, that was short lived. It is now showing as A330 again.
Would have been nice to have the lie-flats on that segment....
Maybe it will change back again? LOL

Indeed. Back to the A330. Just flew my usual BKK-HAN route two days ago. Thankfully I was in C, but even so, I'd rather have a 787.

Does it seem to anyone else that THAI is not using the 787s for their optimal purpose? They seem to have equipped and deployed the aircraft onto regional routes, when the design was intended to profitably open up long-thin routes.
