Sydney Thai F Lounge access to SQ F ?

Has anyone been allowed into the new SQ Kris first lounge in Sydney on departure yet?

Historically J and F passengers are asked at checkin to use the AirNZ lounge, which is great. But was wondering if you hold a F boarding pass with Thai can you use the Sing FC Sydney lounge??

In theory star alliance rules say it's ok right?

Yes, they will let you in - be prepared for some fight, though... You might have the rules printed from e.g. http://www.starallianceemployees.com/home.html to show them...

Looks like a nice lounge, and it appears that United First Class passengers have gained access without too much trouble, so hopefully the same for TG F.

YMMV on this one. I usually get in with just a 'you know you can use the Air New Zealand lounge?', followed by a 'you know we won't call your flight from here?'. others have reported more needing more of a 'discussion' to get in.

Not very intuitive, huh - rules are located under 'Airport'

And, you could also go here:http://www.staralliance.com/en/benef...lounge-finder/ enter your flight/class information, and it will display the lounges you have access to in SYD, which include the Singapore Lounges, and print that.

the lounge access rules are listed on the ordinary star alliance pages as well:

thanks all!
and there are also exceptions!
"Except: LH HON/First Class Lounges in FRA/MUC; LX HON/First Class Lounges in ZRH/GVA; OS HON/First Class Lounges in VIE; TG Spa Lounge in BKK"
...and probably more; would be surprised if SQ opened their F lounges to all other *A F passengers everywhere...

those are the listed exceptions for 'special lounges' (similar to the concorde room for BA at Heathrow).

There is a more general exception - which is 'capacity restraints' - but the SQ lounge is pretty empty at the time of the TG departure (assuming you're going to be there less than 2 hours before departure).

Thing is, they do (with the exception of SIN TPR).

Even the hallowed halls of SIN SKL F section is open to any Star F passenger leaving from SIN. Same for LHR SKL etc - all freely accessible to Star F pax.

How long can I spend at the new SQ lounge without getting bored & or eating & drinking every thing of the menu ?

I have spent 6 hours at the TG F Class at BKK lounge having a 90mins massage & a bath & eating & drinking to my hearts content.

But at LHR an hour is enough at the SQ F lounge.

BTW have far is the SQ lounge from the gates THAI use ?

I can't imagine that it would keep me entertained for more than an hour.
