FAQ: Royal First Class Lounge and Royal Orchid Spa information and access.
Thought with the number of FCL and Spa questions littering this board it might be worth making a sticky with all the available information and also provide a place for members to ask their questions. Please let me know if you think it is a good idea and please let me know if any of the information I have included is wrong or if you feel anything else needs to be added.

*A F arrival connecting to TG C or *A C = no FCL access

1 guest is allowed when departing in TG F or *A F

Q: If arriving in TG F and departing in TG C the following day, will I get access to the F lounge?

A: Offically the answer is no as you need a same day ticket, however some people have been granted access in this situation. So very much a YMMV situation.

Q: If arriving in TG F and staying in BKK, is it possible to use the TG F lounge as an arrivals lounge?

A: Unfortunately this is not allowed, although exceptions have been made before. So officially it's not allowed, but there is no harm in asking.

Touch Of Silk Massage (Full body oil massage - 60 minutes for First Class only) – Ler's start your journey with a relaxing Touch of Silk full body oil massage. Delivered with the unique 'Thai touch', this massage will help to prepare your body for your onward flight by increasing blood circulation as well as relieving muscular tension and helping to provide the necessary hydration for your skin. On leaving the massage you will be left with an overall sense of well-being and total relaxation.

Neck & Shoulder Massage (30 minutes) – This is a great massage for passengers who are stressed, work at the computer too much or don't relax well. Neck and shoulder problems from routine activities are among the most common area for massage therapists to address. Using specific techniques the therapist will work to loosen tight muscles around the neck and shoulders whilst simultaneously assessing how much tension is held in the body and how best to release it. You will board your flight feeling more relaxed and a little lighter on the shoulders.

Relaxing Hand Massage (30 minutes) – Are your hands tired from all that clicking, driving, messaging and typing? If so, how about offering them a break and giving them a massage they truly deserve? By massaging the major channels/meridians of the arms and reflex points in the hands, this deep hand massage is designed to thoroughly release tension that accumulates in the hands and arms from our daily tasks. finishing with warm towels for both arms encourage muscle relaxation; this treatment can help to deliver a total sense of relaxation.

Relaxing Foot Massage (30 minutes) – Let's help prepare your feet for your onward journey, by taking the weight of them and giving them a relaxing massage that they truly deserve. Foot massage is a well-known relaxation therapy to help take care of tired feet. With the gentle touch of the therapists' hands, a sense of overall relaxation is induced. Deeper pressure by the fingers will help to stimulate your vital organs.

Spa access rules:

TG F departure = F spa access

*A F departures = No spa access

TG C departures = C spa access

*A C departures = No spa access

TG F arrival connecting to TG C = C spa access, however some people have been offered F spa access in this scenario

No guest are allowed regardless of class of travel

Q: Is it possible to book the spa treatment in advance?

A: No. You can book at First class check-in, at the FCL or the Spa itself - they will indicate the approx waiting time if more than a few minutes.

I have had some PMs from newer members who are confused by some of the abbreviations on this post. If you need help understanding them, FT has a great tool for looking up their meanings in the FT glossary.

Hello All!
I want to book a TG First Class Ticket on the route HKG-PEN. As I know TG offers on the BKK-PEN leg only Premium Economy Class (no Business). Do I still have access to Royal First Lounge / Spa?
Thanks for your help in advance

My guess would be the chance will be somewhere between nought and zero.

Normally arriving TG F and connecting to TG you will be taken to the TG F lounge on arrival to wait for your connection. Not sure how that plays out with a connection to Thai Smile. Spa... probably not as onward connection is in economy, but worth asking.

TG->TG is an interesting scenario but as they are both part of Thai I would guess F lounge access is likely. Spa definitely a no.

Thank you for your answers so far.
The connecting flight BKK-PEN is not operated by Thai Smile. It is an regular TG flight with one of their A320. But for the reason, that there is only Premium Economy available I wonder how it fits to their Lounge rules. Normally connecting flights must be in C for access.

That's interesting!

I didn't know Thai Airways international had A320s, I thought those were all Thai Smile.

In any event, I think that means connecting TG->TG, you'll be met on arrival with a buggy and taken to the F lounge to wait for your connection.

you will get escorted from your F leg to security to the F lounge; however spa access is based on your departing flight, which means no spa access. But if you ask friendly or you can tame the lounge dragon (and it's not too busy, but usually it is not during the time before BKK PEN leaves) you might get a half hour neck/shoulder or foot massage.

and let us know what premium economy on A320 is; never heard about that on TG; BKK PEN was for quite some time with the old 737 with even older tight J seats, where I even did not feel premium economy...but then it is just a one hour flight

I looked at TG's website and they list 5 A320s in their fleet (as opposed to Thai Smile that says they have 13 in their fleet).

Both TGs and Thai Smile's have 174 seats, with premium economy being regular economy 3+3 seating (with a bit of extra pitch and a blocked middle).

I'm pretty sure you're right - it was 'business class' (or something like that).

It's now called 'Smile Plus' - no J. Seems to be without lounge access for smile plus (whereas 'business' might have had lounges?)

In January this year it was sold as Business. And yes, it's like the European Business (for example LH) with regular 3+3 seating. The Seat in the middle is blocked. There is a flexible curtain to seperate the cabin classes.
To sell it as Premium Economy is more honest in my opinion.

Thanks al lot to all of you for helping me concerning my Lounge-Access Question. An please excuse my bad English.

Shortly after TG switched some regional flights over to TG there was pushback by local governments that the landing allowances were granted for TG, not WE.

In the wake of that TG claimed some A320 planes and flew them as TG mainline.

Or something along those lines.

I'm assuming it's just the front 3 or 4 rows of the plane with the middle seat blocked.

Edit: Which apparently has already been proffered.

FCL access when departing the next day

Any recent experiences when arriving in F the night before and departing C/Y the following morning. I am thinking of doing NRT - BKK (arrives 10.30pm) and BKK - PHN the following day in TG Y.

if you go after arrival to the F lounge, yes they will let you in. But it closes 0100-0500; so you could leave something there and say you will come back the other morning and then go through immigration, leave airport and come back the other morning

if you go through immigration after arrival, I am afraid no access to FCL the other morning unless you have status or can talk your way in

I have done this combination a handful of times but none in the last 2 years. Bin Sabai is correct though, if you don't go into the lounge after arrival you are unlikely to get in the next morning.

At least from my experience which is admittedly dated.
