FAQ: Royal First Class Lounge and Royal Orchid Spa information and access.
Thought with the number of FCL and Spa questions littering this board it might be worth making a sticky with all the available information and also provide a place for members to ask their questions. Please let me know if you think it is a good idea and please let me know if any of the information I have included is wrong or if you feel anything else needs to be added.

• Neck & Shoulder Massage (30 minutes) – This is a great massage for passengers who are stressed, work at the computer too much or don't relax well. Neck and shoulder problems from routine activities are among the most common area for massage therapists to address. Using specific techniques the therapist will work to loosen tight muscles around the neck and shoulders whilst simultaneously assessing how much tension is held in the body and how best to release it. You will board your flight feeling more relaxed and a little lighter on the shoulders.
• Relaxing Hand Massage (30 minutes) – Are your hands tired from all that clicking, driving, messaging and typing? If so, how about offering them a break and giving them a massage they truly deserve? By massaging the major channels/meridians of the arms and reflex points in the hands, this deep hand massage is designed to thoroughly release tension that accumulates in the hands and arms from our daily tasks. finishing with warm towels for both arms encourage muscle relaxation; this treatment can help to deliver a total sense of relaxation.
• Relaxing Foot Massage (30 minutes) – Let's help prepare your feet for your onward journey, by taking the weight of them and giving them a relaxing massage that they truly deserve. Foot massage is a well-known relaxation therapy to help take care of tired feet. With the gentle touch of the therapists' hands, a sense of overall relaxation is induced. Deeper pressure by the fingers will help to stimulate your vital organs.

A: No. You can book at First class check-in, at the FCL or the Spa itself - they will indicate the approx waiting time if more than a few minutes.
I have had some PMs from newer members who are confused by some of the abbreviations on this post. If you need help understanding them, FT has a great tool for looking up their meanings in the FT glossary.

Similar situation. Arriving TG F in late afternoon and connecting to C the following morning. If I stay at a Louis Taven room can I use the F lounge the day I land in F & the following morning before my J flight? I'm still going back and fourth between getting a room at Louis Taven or going over to the Novotel. (17 hour layover). Sounds like to much time for a transit hotel & the F lounge is not such a big deal. I don't really need it when I land and the conx in J is at 8am so an hour in the J lounge won't kill me (I'm not one of those people who get to the airport light years before my flight just to spend more time in an F lounge (unless it's a 9-10PM EK departure from DXB as they make a great fillet au poivre in EKs F lounge so worth getting there early for dinner (yes, I know the TG F lounge cooks food to order but it's nothing you can't get at your hotel thru room service or in a restaurant. ............But that EK F fillet is something special (as long as the chef knows how to make a good au poivre sauce!

On my return I'm departing on TG676 in F at 08:00 in the morning. But I don't think I'll get up in the middle of the night to spend time in FCL on that stretch

there is of course the option to tell them that you want to stay in transit and then the escort will bring you through transit security to F lounge (condition is that your luggage is checked through). You can then later decide, whether to use Louis tavern in the transit area or go through immigration to a landside hotel; access to F lounge the other morning is in this case a matter of negotiation

Thanks for the answer. I have the option to go with either SQ C 2-2-2 or TG C 2-2-2 on BKK-SIN. I guess TG still have the 30 min massage and fast track going for it so I might stick to my current booking despite no FCL access.

I am aware of that, but to be able to spend some quality time there I would indeed have to wake up extremely early. Early enough to call it night instead of morning, at least in my book

True.......if you really want to spend as much time as psbl in an airline lounge. Personally, I'd rather spend the time in bed . Nothing much is going on in the lounge at the crack of dawn.....don't get me wrong, you should certainly spend some time there but INO an hours enough at that time of day. What can you do there in 3 1/2 hours that you can't do in 1 (2 hours if you want a massage).....The kicker for me is the fact the chefs are not really cooking much in the morning (same eggs you can get anywhere). If you were on a late flight I can see getting there early to relax & sample some good Thai food.....but at 5:30 your gonna probably be tired, the chefs re not at their best & im not even sure the bar is as free flowing as in the PM (I'm sure you can get a Bloody Mary though). Just my opinion. Most important thing is you enjoy your trip

I'm a sucker for the A380 that's why I chose that departure. But now I'm getting second thoughts - perhaps I'll have an overall better experience if I rebook to the daytime departure on the 747. I'm just worried that I might end up in the old F cabin if I do so. This will be my first time flying TG F so any input is appreciated even though I know we're a bit off topic now.

Thanks! Got me convinced. I'm now booked on TG660 with the 747 instead. Seat 1A ^ This way I will be able to sleep in, get to the airport at 12:00 and fully enjoy Royal First Class lounge. Definitely feels like the right move.

Access to lounge during F transit
If I have a single itinerary that transits BKK in Thai First, where the inbound arrives in BKK at 9pm and the outbound leaves at 7.30am the next morning, does anyone know whether I be able to access the F lounge during the night (right after I land)? In other words, I know the lounge shuts at 1am, but can I access it before then, rather than having to wait until it opens at 5am the next morning?
