FAQ: Royal First Class Lounge and Royal Orchid Spa information and access.
Thought with the number of FCL and Spa questions littering this board it might be worth making a sticky with all the available information and also provide a place for members to ask their questions. Please let me know if you think it is a good idea and please let me know if any of the information I have included is wrong or if you feel anything else needs to be added.

Lounge access rules:

Departures in TG or *A F from BKK = FCL access

TG F Arrival connecting to international TG C/Y = FCL access

TG F Arrival connecting to *A C = No FCL access

TG F arrival connecting to domestic TG C = officially no FCL access, however some people have been granted access in this situation.

*A F arrival connecting to TG C or *A C = no FCL access

1 guest is allowed when departing in TG F or *A F

Q: If arriving in TG F and departing in TG C the following day, will I get access to the F lounge?

A: Offically the answer is no as you need a same day ticket, however some people have been granted access in this situation. So very much a YMMV situation.

Q: If arriving in TG F and staying in BKK, is it possible to use the TG F lounge as an arrivals lounge?

A: Unfortunately this is not allowed, although exceptions have been made before. So officially it's not allowed, but there is no harm in asking.

Treatment Menu:

Touch Of Silk Massage (Full body oil massage - 60 minutes for First Class only) – Ler's start your journey with a relaxing Touch of Silk full body oil massage. Delivered with the unique 'Thai touch', this massage will help to prepare your body for your onward flight by increasing blood circulation as well as relieving muscular tension and helping to provide the necessary hydration for your skin. On leaving the massage you will be left with an overall sense of well-being and total relaxation.

Neck & Shoulder Massage (30 minutes) – This is a great massage for passengers who are stressed, work at the computer too much or don't relax well. Neck and shoulder problems from routine activities are among the most common area for massage therapists to address. Using specific techniques the therapist will work to loosen tight muscles around the neck and shoulders whilst simultaneously assessing how much tension is held in the body and how best to release it. You will board your flight feeling more relaxed and a little lighter on the shoulders.

Relaxing Hand Massage (30 minutes) – Are your hands tired from all that clicking, driving, messaging and typing? If so, how about offering them a break and giving them a massage they truly deserve? By massaging the major channels/meridians of the arms and reflex points in the hands, this deep hand massage is designed to thoroughly release tension that accumulates in the hands and arms from our daily tasks. finishing with warm towels for both arms encourage muscle relaxation; this treatment can help to deliver a total sense of relaxation.

Relaxing Foot Massage (30 minutes) – Let's help prepare your feet for your onward journey, by taking the weight of them and giving them a relaxing massage that they truly deserve. Foot massage is a well-known relaxation therapy to help take care of tired feet. With the gentle touch of the therapists' hands, a sense of overall relaxation is induced. Deeper pressure by the fingers will help to stimulate your vital organs.

Spa access rules:

TG F departure = F spa access

*A F departures = No spa access

TG C departures = C spa access

*A C departures = No spa access

TG F arrival connecting to TG C = C spa access, however some people have been offered F spa access in this scenario

No guest are allowed regardless of class of travel

Q: Is it possible to book the spa treatment in advance?

A: No. You can book at First class check-in, at the FCL or the Spa itself - they will indicate the approx waiting time if more than a few minutes.

I have had some PMs from newer members who are confused by some of the abbreviations on this post. If you need help understanding them, FT has a great tool for looking up their meanings in the FT glossary.

I asume I rather get that service when I come back and go to the FC checkin as I want to check in an additional bag of stuff I buy in Bangkok.
sure, then you have to check in at domestic terminal in Phuket and leave domestic terminal in BKK, come back to check in F (gate 1) and from there with the buggy to FCL; not sure whether you can check in all bags through though in this case. So if you have to pick up your bags in BKK, you can just go upstairs and check them in any time before the flight
do not check in at international terminal in Phuket as otherwise you go through immigration already in Phuket! and then you are legally out of the country already!

We are 4 pax arriving in C on TG at 05:55 from CDG and leaving TG in C at 17:50 for RGN next month. Two pax are 8 & 12 - can kids get the 30min massages or is there a min age for the spa? If the kids aren't too tired I'm hoping to do a short visit to downtown.
Would it be better to use the spa on arrival or for departure? I'm concerned it might be booked up at departure.
Finally, is the Royal Orchid Lounge on E our best bet for departure as we're leaving from Concourse E and there are slumber rooms?

With a twelve hour layover, you might want to get a hotel room. Way too long to spend in the terminal and spending eight hours on the streets in Bangkok would be pretty grueling after the overnight flight.

Also, the only way you can easily access the TG lounge on arrival is as a connecting passenger . . . you can't really access the lounge then head into Bangkok.

I'd look at the Novotel which allows you to check in at any point in the day.
My friends walked there but IIRC there's a shuttle as well.

actually possible; let ground staff pick you up and bring you through transit security to F lounge; later tell lounge staff that you would like to go through immigration downtown and later come back...and they will bring you through immigration

Im planning to have SYD-BKK-SGN which SYD-BKK will be in First. Can I be able to access to the First lounge and spa when I transit at Bangkok? Ortherwise, SGN-BKK-SYD which I will have BKK-SYD in First. Is it possible?

Thanks so much! :-)

provided you are in transit (not a stopover), you have access to the first class lounge by virtue of the arriving flight or the departing flight.

on your outbound, because the connection is to business class you are only entitled to a 30 minute spa treatment, not the one hour treatment for first class pax. however you can always ask on the day and sometimes they give you the more generous allowance.

Ah thanks! I read from the first page and found this. What are 'C Spa' and 'F Spa'? Are those different place.

I just checked SYD-SGN via BKK and the transit is like only less than 2 hour, so it isn't good to choose this flight. I think the SGN-SYD via BKK will be better as my outbound will be in F instead of Business, and it allows me to have couple hours to explore the lounge, spa and airport.

the location is the same (between exit of J lounge in D and F lounge), but service is different; F one hour full body massage and J 1/2 hour neck and shoulder or foot massage. F passengers can also choose from J service

you will have plenty of time. Arriving first class from Sydney you will be met by a Thai airways employee with a golf cart to drive you to transit. they will then facilitate security screening and take you directly to the first class lounge. You should have around about an hour in the lounge, maybe more, before needing to head to your flight to SGN.

Ahh thanks so much for helping!!! It seems great but 1 hour seems not enough for massage, shower and lounge unfortunately. :-(

For the massage, in the first page it stated that I should book for the spa at check-in desk. Does this mean I need to book at Sydney Airport or Saigon Airport?

1 hour is not enough for the full massage, but enough for the 30 minute head and shoulder or neck massage (you can choose that even as an F passenger). The actual appointment only lasts about 20 minutes. If it takes your fancy, or if the flight arrives early, you can ask to be booked in.

They mean at the check-in in Bangkok if you happen to start your travels there for the day, not at an outstation where you might originally start travelling. If you have come in from elsewhere, you can book when you get to the reception of the first class lounge. Just ask there and they will make the appointment. The spa entrance is about 3 seconds away from the lounge entrance.

You cannot otherwise book a spa appointment in advance.

Hello,

I apologize if this question has been asked numerous times. I have never traveled TG and have a question about Lounge /Spa access

Do I get access to FCL and spa as *G arriving on TG C and departing on TG C?

Thanks

No, unfortunately not. Star Gold gives no access to the spa, and no additional benefits to those who are already entitled.

Access is based on airline (TG only) and class of service (C or F). Arriving C connecting to C gets you access to the C spa treatments.
