Im travelling the following sectors with a friend can anyone please advise of the best seats to try and get, im in business class:

ZRH-BKK (a340-600)
BKK-SYD (A340-600)

BKK-FRA (747-400)

Also I have ordered a special meal Muslim meal - will this be specially prepared to business class standard or am i likely just to get the same meal as economy pax would get? I eat fish/veg so dont mind changing to a regular meal as long as there is this option...

You can't really go wrong in business class on both the a340-600 and 747.

I would prefer the first row on the a340-600.

managed to book row 11 (first row in business) on both the a340 journeys - even though seatguru suggests space may be restricted??, and upper deck of the 747 so happy.
anyone know regarding the special meal query?

The meal will be presented in a biz class manner, but the content might be the same as a Y pax ordering the same.

There are some trip reports on 346 seating reviews, but row 11 is fine, but just be aware of that baby cots are mounted on the bulkhead, and you could have a a disturbed sleep.

My preference was for 12E or 14/15/16E - aisle access, quick out the door, and occasionally an empty seat adjacent. I'm over looking out the window!

Thai (so-called) VIPs can also be a minor bother (usually by fawning pax/crew), and often are seated in row 11. I sat next to Thai golfer Thongchai Jaidee (I in 11A, he in 11B) and there was an almost non-stop visitation for signed golfing magazines for the flight HKG-BKK. He was excellent company, and took the signing with good nature.

hmm not sure about which seat to go for now - im travelling with someone and we'd like to sit together which we have at present in row 11, but the last thing id want is a screaming baby!

A fish meal as a regular option is possible, but not 100% certain. Vege is unlikely unless on Thailand-India routing.

Most 'screaming babies' are better than noisy/boozed biz flyers! (and then tend to more of the latter) Like most things, it is all about risk. So, whilst I have had flawless flights in row 11 (any seat), I've ended up preferring 14/15(/16) E/F combinations as described above.
